Disclaimer: All decklists are purely my own opinions. They are not always competitive. Taking this deck to the Pro Tour would more than likely result in a loss. That being said, these will take out anyone on the kitchen table. Take this list with a grain of salt.

WELCOME to the VERY FIRST installment of Budget Upgrade! Maybe I'll look back on this fondly, or maybe this idea will flop.

The premise is this: take an intro deck (about $15) and upgrade it (between $10 and $15), resulting in a relatively easy to find/build deck. Obviously there are better card choices here and there, but WHO CARES its a budget deck that's fun.

This week we tackle Rallying Cry, (original list: http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/battle-zendikar-event-deck-and-intro-packs-2015-09-24)

This deck tries, and fails, to make allies work. The deck wants to put down small allies, then big allies to give cool buffs, then use pump spells to finish the job off. Unfortunately, the big allies in red kinda suck. In fact, the red kinda sucks. Green, however, has much more powerful allies. Tajuru Warcaller, for example, is a super powerful late game ally. Tajuru Stalwart is a very good ally to have early on, and Veteran Warleader makes good use of all of the creatures running around. Let's see how this goes!

...And somehow we came away with the TCG price at $11... so we made money! This looks like a pretty decent naya allies deck to me. Obviously there are some sweet cards to add in if we really wanted, but this looks pretty solid. I will report back with playtesting results!
