A fairly competitive "budget" modern deck. Happy to take suggestions, but please bear in mind that this is a budget deck, just for casual play and maybe FNMs so don't recommend things like fetch lands or Tarmogoyf.
The deck plays like a typical Zoo deck, hit in with cheap creatures, fast. T1: Any of the one drops, T2: either 2 more one drops or Buring-Tree Emissary into something like
Flinthoof Boar
. You can then clear the path for your creatures with Lightning Bolt and Dismember and often
Ghor-Clan Rampager
for the win, usually on turn 5 or 6 if all goes to plan, but it is possible on turn 4.
Currently, in the 2 drop slot where 'gofy should be, I'm testing Keldon Marauders and it's play testing ok. It'll probably switch to Scavenging Ooze when that's modern legal, but I also keen to get suggestions on that slot from other people.
For those building similar decks Marauders is a great budget option, especially if Ooze is out of your price range. My friend described it as a "2 mana Lava Axe" but I think its better than that. It comes down, pings then is a brick for 2 turns of blocking or an attack, then pings again. Great off Burning-Tree Emissary. It can occasionally leave your board a bit empty if it hasn't made an impact (or you haven't won) by the time it leaves, which is it's main downside.
