a card you could try for draw would be Bident of Thassa it may not be the best fit but it is an option

Another good option that could switch with Desecration Demon is Courser of Kruphix in an aggro/burn matchup. It's a big blocker that slows the burn plan down as you continue to play lands.

blackmarker90 another move that I was currently working on! Thank you for your valuable suggestions!

Prophet of kruphix fits pretty nicely into this deck.

Prophet of Kruphix is a card I have tried and it either does really well or is a complete waste of a draw. I am testing with her right now and i am not sure if she will make it. Thanks for your input!

You might consider sideboarding Simic Charm against control-heavy decks, since it can give your walkers hexproof and doubles as a bounce in a tight spot.

TheRobinator YES! that is great! I forgot it gives all your permanents hexproof! I thought it was just creatures. What should I take out of the sideboard to put in 3 of them?

Maybe notion thief??

March 28, 2014 11:56 a.m.

aaronmaxey says... #13

LtMiller117 it would be so hard to do that! Notion Thief has flat out won me games against esper control and can be a valuable face beater as well! I was thinking taking the 1x Cyclonic Rift out and the 2x Devour Flesh until more people start playing hexproof enchantments at my LGS

aaronmaxey Gotcha. Didn't realize that cards potential(dint see it a lot at my meta). I like your suggestion a lot so I would go with that.

yeah Notion Thief makes esper players pissed when they Sphinx's Revelation for like 5 and you flash in Notion Thief in response and take their card advantage away. I have caused many scoops by esper players when they see him and all his glory stealing all of their notions haha.

LtMiller117 says... #16

Haha, yeah. I actually run esper control so I'm gonna be ready for that card now.

March 28, 2014 1:20 p.m.

aaronmaxey says... #17

You have been warned good sir sir. Keep some counter mana open! For some reason no one plays him tho so I think you will be safe! I love him, because it forces esper players to use a removal spell on him which is value city after you have taken some of their gas away already!

sunnyosrego says... #18

If you tap out for a sphinx's revelation and your opponent has enough mana open for a notion theif, you're not meant to be playing esper.

aaronmaxey says... #19

sunnyosrego there are many times when esper desperately needs to draw an answer due to the board state, and they will tap out for sphinx's early game. especially if there is a board of walkers to deal with early. Also Notion Thief can be played just at the eot and it forces esper to deal with him.

Haha, very true points. Fortunately o haven't experiences that disappointment yet. Are you considering the new Ajani for this deck as well??

April 21, 2014 4:53 p.m.

aaronmaxey says... #21

Well splashing white would be rough but with Sylvan Caryatid and maybe Mana Confluence i might be able to pull it off. I am not sure if I will add him, but if I do Id want Elspeth, Sun's Champion too. Overall, I think adding white would make the deck less consistent but I might just try it.

April 21, 2014 4:58 p.m.

LtMiller117 says... #22

True. I feel like it would do pretty well here. He and elspeth could be another threat but 4 colors would be hard to do even with caryatid and confluence.might give it a run though.

Font of Fortunes that's solid card draw, might fit in well with this build.

You should have Drown in Sorrow somewhere in the 75

This is similar to a deck im running. My card draw engine is Underworld Connections which works really well with Courser of Kruphix im thinking about running some Extinguish All Hope as well. you might want to consider Silence the Believers . Drown in Sorrow is a must have against the aggro decks i agree with anthony.
