Standard GWU (Bant) Ramp

Nerdcore

Maybeboard

This deck is an updated version of Bant Control that introduces Primeval Bounty into an already winning formula to turn all our dorks into major threats, Loxodon Smiter Style.

The basic concept is to ramp your way into Primeval Bounty, then use the cheap creatures and spells to start dropping gigantic creatures and beast tokens every turn.

Rather than go through individual cards, here's how each trigger of Primeval Bounty works in tandem with the cards:

Whenever you cast a creature, put a 3/3 Green Beast token into play.

With Elvish Mystic and Snapcaster Mage, this particular mode enables you to cheaply "double up" the value of any creature spell. With Prime Speaker Zenaga, you automatically are boosted to a 4/4, without even having any other creatures in play.

This also provides an additional layer of protection for AEtherling, as now you have an additional creature to sacrifice if the opponent starts to get uppity with effects of that nature.

If he's added, Voice of Resurgence drops his buddy as a 2/2 with a 3/3 backup. (This is in the works--Not sure where he goes in)

"Whenever you cast a Non-Creature Spell, put 3 +1/+1 Tokens on Target Creature"

All of the noncreature spells in this deck also actively engage the deck's actions by being instant speed or giving you more mana to pump even larger AEtherlings. A removal spell is definitely necessary, but one still hasn't appeared. Perhaps Smite fits the bill, or a splash for Far//Away.

"Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, gain 3 Life"

If you're playing along at home, notice that flashing back a Farseek with Snapcaster Mage becomes the most insane play this deck can do (And why I built the deck in the first place). With Bounty active, Farseek goes from being a death-sentence late game to being a fantastic lifegain and pump spell.

With bounty, when you play it late game, it reads "Put 3 +1/+1 counters on target creature. Search your Library for a Mountain, Plains, Swamp or Island card. Gain 3 Life." Which is pretty boss for 2 CMC.

Aah, but Nerdcore, what happens if you DON'T see Primeval Bounty or someone counters/slaughter games/removes it?

Honestly, the deck is still a regular Prime Speaker Bant deck, though a little weaker if its enabler goes offline. The deck should still be able to force an AEtherling kill and just break people with Sphinx's Revelation, regardless of if Bounty hits. Bounty really kicks the deck into overdrive though and lets you laugh your way through games.

What the deck needs now is a legitimate sideboard. My instincts say this is a deck that wants Imposing Sovereign, Fiendslayer Paladin and other such anti-Jund tech. I can also see it really wanting to have Renounce the Guilds, as well as a way to cheat in Turn//Burn or Far//Away in using the Farseeks or Evolving Wilds package. That's where I'm working now. Not really sure what goes there.

So, thank you guys for looking, please leave comments below and let's see if we can't bust this thing wide open.
