My take on a casual, budget, land destruction deck.
While red burn decks usually seek to be a quick kick in the gut, this one is more of sleeper hold. The goal is too keep your opponent's options limited by decimating their land base, and then deal incremental amounts of damage until they are gone.
Let's examine our tools and combos:
Obsidian Fireheart
: Admittedly more here for flavor, in keeping with the deck's desire to hate on lands, but can also serve a pretty pivotal role in smothering out your opponent. Once you have been able to gauge how much mana they need be effective, you can consistently keep them one land bellow that. Pop blaze counters on their remaining lands and keep destroying any new ones they may play, and you have some consistent damage every turn.
Boom
+Darksteel Citadel= self explanatory, for two mana you take one of their lands, and emerge unscathed.
Zo-Zu the Punisher
: now all those lands they're playing(you know, the ones you'll be destroying), also sting them on the way into play. With this, and your only other creature,
Obsidian Fireheart
, any lands they play are a liability in addition to be a target.
Incendiary Command
: If only because I like options. The land destruction is nice, as is the damage, but the possibility of scooping up a new hand is great in case you've been mana flooded, or have more firehearts than is necesary.
Semblance Anvil: for efficiency. since all of our land destruction spells are sorcery, if we toss one away with the anvil, we can play the rest of them for far cheaper.
Considering:
If I were to add more money to this Braid of Fire would be a great replacement for
Rite of Flame
, and if this went more creature heavy, Grinning Ignus could combo well with our Semblance Anvil.
