Thanks for the suggestions I think Despise and Reforge the Soul will go in well.

Leyline of Sanctity causes basically an instant loss for you. Just a heads up, even though you may have acknowledged it already. Going to need some enchantment destruction. You have Witchbane Orb covered though.

I think that you should consider some better form of a dual land than the guildgate. Perhaps a Temple of Malice , which lets you scry, at least, even though it too will come out tapped. Also, you may want to consider some more targeted discard, such as Appetite for Brains for late game or Inquisition of Kozilek for early game.

Maybe some Smallpox ? Because a lesser Balance in modern is still amazing. Better taplands would also be nice, with shocks and all, though I know there tough to get a play set of on a budget. I also feel like Howling Mine is out of place here, as your trying to deny your opponent a hand rather than refuel it. I understand that it helps refuel your hand as well, but I would recommend better cantrips. Seeing as there are not many in black and red, perhaps some Gitaxian Probe or cycle lands? I would also probably replace Burning Inquiry with Faithless Looting (one of red's better draws), to once again avoid helping them thin out there deck, which could potentially give them more solutions. I would also recommend running some Hero's Downfall for walker removal. Chittering Rats can often be like a Time Walk
Of course you know the big money recomendations like Liliana and Siezes.
SB I'd run some Surgical Extraction s to help fight against combo (its especially powerful as you run discard). Some Pithing Needle s are good against pod and Twin, and since you dont run alot of nonbasics, Blood Moon s seem like a must to combat Tron and Zoo.
Decks looking good +1

First of all thanks for the feed back :) but the point of the deck is to deal damage with Megrim or Liliana's caress by casting burning inquiry and other discard cards. This deck can make burning inquiry explosive, dealing 24 damage by turn 5-6 or a solid 12 on turn 3. Burning inquiry is not for card draw, and for the most part, Neither is howling mine. Howling mine feeds Blightning as well as mind shatter, and is also as a secondary plus, gives me more cards. Since i am running Rakdos, I get to have Rakdos Charm in my sideboard. Which destroys pod if they go infinite. Surgical extraction and faithless looting look like great cards to have in this deck.

The Rack is amazing. Shrieking Affliction is amazing. 'Nuff said.

Why would you use Mind Shatter over Rakdos's Return ?
September 25, 2014 1:52 p.m.
I ran Waste Not for a few games. Didn't really do very much to help win the game.

Waste not plus burning inquiry is literally stupid. This is exactly the kind of deck Waste not belongs in- pitch a spirit guide and get it out on turn one, then burning inquiry and or duress? I'd switch duress to thoughtseize, and cut the howling mines completely
September 25, 2014 1:57 p.m.
Dude. In what possible way does waste not help me win this game. It is a 2 drop enchant. On turn two I wanna play Liliana's caress. Then on turn three I wanna okay another caress and a burning inquiry. That's 12 damage right there. Then in turn 4 I can play petty much any other discard card and win. This is NOT a control deck. Discarding their cards is not to lessen their card advantage, it is to deal damage. I want this game over by turn 5-6. Waste not will not deal damage, and it will not discard their cards. All it does is give me unnecessary mana, chump blockers, and inconsistent card draw.

I would get rid of Howling Mine and consider Geth's Grimoire . Yes it has a higher CMC, but it works with the flavor of the deck and only you draw cards. Painful Quandary will also help punish the opponent for playing cards late game if you can fit 1 or 2 of them in. I really wanted Pain Magnification to work in one of my decks but I went more discard control rather than straight discard damage. I didn't look too far into it, but you should be able to get a sweet combo going. I don't know if Anger of the Gods is out of your budget, but it is strictly better than Slagstorm when talking about board wipes.

Whatever dude it was a suggestion. Seems like it'd fit just fine in here, but what could I possibly know. Howling mine is still an awful choice
September 25, 2014 2:11 p.m.
I might run one - two pain painful quandary, also pain magnification seems powerful! Thanks for the suggestions.
September 25, 2014 2:12 p.m.
Hahahahaha, I just realized that casting a Blightning , while having both Liliana's Caress and Megrim and Pain Magnification out will win the game. I am not positive, but I believe it results in infinite damage. I am positive that it deals over 20 damage.
September 25, 2014 2:20 p.m.
Awww... just read Liliana's Caress again.... they lose life, not take damage.
September 25, 2014 2:21 p.m.
IMO Temple Bell is strictly better than Howling Mine even at 3. The ability to control when each player draws a card is worth the extra 1 mana. Every game I've played bell I've never once thought "gee I wish this was a Howling Mine" for those exact reasons.
also this deck needs Mikokoro, Center of the Sea . It's just 2 lands and it's cheap to activate, and you'll be happy you have it when you opponent's life is <= 4 and they're hellbent.

8Rack is generally better/faster than what you're doing here. Plenty of great decks to get ideas from on here. This is mine: Liliana's Love(ly rack). kmcree has a lot of 8Rack experience too.

Yeah dude! I should totally stop playing this deck and play your deck! Please, if you're jot ganna give me constructive ideas, please don't comment. You legit just told me to switch my deck. Caress is its own sub-archetype. You might have well as told me to play scapeshift. This deck is more closely related to burn if anything.

Dude, he was just pointing out that a version of what you're trying to do exists, and that it's better in some ways. He didn't tell you to switch your deck, he said that there might be better ways to achieve the goal you are striving for, and gave you good resources that can be used to work in the direction he suggested (suggested, not commanded) you go in. If you don't want suggestions, don't deckcycle.
Also, when you said "You might have well as told me to play scapeshift", I nearly lost my mind. I think you meant "You might as well have told me to play Scapeshift", and even if that was the message you were trying to convey, this is the most direct example of a slippery-slope fallacy I have ever seen. If you don't want to switch your deck, just say so, don't try to imply that the person is telling you that everything you are doing is wrong.

lol. That was typed on an ipad. And I stand by what I said. This deck is not like 8-rack. It has discard, but that doesnt mean that I'm trying to deplete their hand. I'm focusing on dealing damage with enchants and burn spells. And comparing this deck to 8-rack is about as accurate as comparing it to scapeshift...
November 11, 2014 8:10 p.m.
I really liked your deck. But i think Waste Not doesnt do much here, maybe replace them with The Rack or Ensnaring Bridge ?

Reforge the Soul ? Despise could be a decent alternative to Thoughtseize . Raven's Crime should be in every discard deck. Wrench Mind is pretty powerful as well. I like what you have going here, +1.
