Post Twin Ban Meta —Jan. 26, 2016
Splinter Twin is banned, and thus Rending Volley is now off the grid. Replaced it with Molten Rain.
Jack-Frost Because him, being the burn deck, is trying to be the beatdown.
He wants to get it as often as possibe, since all he cares about, is that it deals a lot of damage for very little mana.

Eidolon of the Great Revel is a great card against most decks in the modern format. While it is true that it hurts the deck too, all you need to do is to play it wisely and in a timely manner. Landing it on turn 2 against control spells pretty bad against them and makes their Snapcaster Mage really bad to play (taking 4 damage). Whenever I cast Eidolon of the Great Revel, my opponent immediately gets rids of it and guarantees 2 damage out of it (which could be relevant in the damage race).
Also, I sideboard out eidolon on games 2 to 3 whenever I face the Mirror or faster decks like Affinity.
I won lots of games because of eidolon and there are times I will have 2 on the battlefield against control decks.

Okay. I'm sure you know this a lot better than I do. It sounds like it works great and i'd hate to play against this since I typically run white weenie style decks. +1

How would you counter or survive a Pyroclasm? Especially now that they printed Kozilek's Return which could come back and deal even more damage

With Splinter Twin banned, I would be working out to update my sideboard.
I'll be testing Reality Hemorrhage, although I'am looking at Pyrite Spellbomb since it can draw me a card too.
I rarely get board wiped by Pyroclasm since, it rarely happens for me to have lots of creatures on the board (a guide or a swiftspear only sometimes). If I want my creatures to live (assuming I'm not tapped out), I can use Boros Charm indestructible mode against it. If my board is filled with Monastery Swiftspears, I can just cast Lightning Bolt in response to make them 2/3.

True, but now that Pyroclasm is being switched out for Kozilek's Return you'll have to deal with 5 damage instead of only 2

True, but the deck doesn't really mind getting board-wiped. First, most of them have haste, therefore already dealt damage to my opponent, even if they got killed. Also, while burn does rely sometimes on creature damage, it's the burn spells like Lightning Bolt is what matters the most.
As I mentioned, you can still save them using Boros Charm's indestructible mode if you wish for your creatures to survive any board-wipes (as long as it's not an exile effect).

Molten Rain could be a replacement, for battling tron and Mono B Eldrazi.

koth_of_the_bummer I thought as much. I was going to also mention Reality Hemorrhage primarily for the fact that I expect it to see a lot of play especially since it bypasses Kor Firewalker's ability.

Why are you running 4 Eidolon of the Great Revel? That'll make you draw them too frequently, especially considering every card in your deck is 3 cmc or below.
