My variation on burn. Instead of running creatures in the extra slots, it runs sacrifice and a hint of land tutor/card draw. This makes for a more consistent deck with a bit more staying power.
The whole deck runs on 3 mana, so don't be afraid to feed extra Mountains to Crack the Earth, or to feed a Darksteel Citadel to Shrapnel Blast.
Simian Spirit Guide creates a much faster deck than running 4 Mountains in their place. It's filed under 3-drop, but it's really mana acceleration.
Plague Boiler is for getting out of sticky situations, clearing out your wellsprings, and generally doing board wipes.
Then there is Perilous Myr, who is a chump block that does some damage, and becomes a great target for Crack the Earth and Shrapnel Blast. (The poor little guy does tend to draw Anger of the Gods and die in a Pillar of Flame. The pillar is a bit sad, since it's their mana advantage...but at least they're not hitting you. Anger is one mana advantage to us, and it's gravy if it also hurts them.)
The Temple of Malice, which is no doubt the most controversial choice, is to provide a bit of smoothing out to the deck. The cost of it coming into play tapped is pretty minimal in this deck, since it does not tend to run short on mana.
