Omg how on earth can you call this budget? Average price is $165

Lol, judging by the current format, $165 is very budget. The only high dollar card in this deck is Thoughtseize (which can be substituted by main-decking Duress). Every other card is less than $10, and most are under $5. It's budget...not pauper.

As of right now, my only way to remove a God is through Liliana's -3 ability... That is a problem that I can foresee...any help is greatly appreciated.

Fair enough, replacing the thoughtseizes would bring down the price heaps ($100) :Pso

You have a lot of creatures with CMC 3 and 4, so would it be possible to swap out some desecration demons, liliana/s and underworld connections for 4 Shadow Alley Denizen and possibly Necropolis Regent ??

The Denizens will work well with Liliana's reaver. Another 1 mana thing that came to mind was dead weight, but that is rotating, so possibly Sinister Possession or Wring Flesh might be good?

BTW, you should not be too worries about the gods, since you have thoughtseize/duress in the deck. If you are still really worries about them, i guess the only other removal option is through sacrifice. Devour Flesh is all I can think of right now

Sorry for the spelling mistakes on worried* (typing in the dark xD)

Also, I upvoted this deck, so keep working on it

Also, Pithing Needle and Glaring Spotlight are side board cards worth looking in to.

Well my main suggestion is try to see if Erebos, God of the Dead can fit I know he is far from budget but as a draw engine he is amazing especially with life gainfrom Whip of Erebos I ppulled two at my prerelease and won a match at over a hundred life cause he had chump blockers plus he shuts down any life gain decks you may face further controling but as a creature gods are much easier to remove its why I made sure my black god will never animate to become target of certain cards

Thanks a heap, catron. Your right, I CAN remove them with Thoughtseize, but Duress still sees them as a creature, regardless of devotion (I checked the errata). I actually really really like Shadow Alley Denizen ...good synergy with reaver, and it adds one to the devotion cost. Had not even considered him...tytyty. Also...thanks for the upvote!

Devour Flesh would only work on a creature if there god is a creature they will most likely sack something else off before they sack there main card

Yea... I'm talking to a friend right now about replacing Abhorrent Overlord due to his hit and miss potential...I think the god would fit nicely there, but that puts, YET ANOTHER 4 drop in the deck.

Only issue I see is that Shadow Alley Denizen has improper timing. I can play reaver and give him intimidate, yes, but thats only until end of turn...and he doesn't have haste.

@Namron The god is replacing the Overlord. Thank you for the idea =)

Overlord has some kinks but in some cases can be amazing I gave him imortatality and sacrificed the overlord again and again and again for tons of tokens lol

IMO, the god would be better in the side board as anti-lifegain

True but still is a great draw engine and can maintain hand advantage when needed

When you play the reaver, give something else intimidate. When you play something else, give the reaver intimidate. You do not have to give the same creature that enters the battlefield intimidate

Another great draw for anything black Read the Bones just its a 3drop sorcery but scry 2 draw 2 would be pretty good after liliana thins out swamps

Another suggestion drop 1 Doom Blade and Hero's Downfall for two devour flesh to stop things like fleecemane lion

September 23, 2013 9:49 a.m.

Vraskatheseen says... #24

I can always side sacrifice effects to handle that...but if Fleecemane Lion gets monstrous,I'm either going to lose anyways, or I'm not playing this deck right, lol
