The goal of the deck is to control the board using the creatures I play. If there is nothing out to control, I can just attack with them for damage.
Controlling creatures:
Agent of the Fates
- Deathtouch is always a kill. plus a few chances to force the opponent to sac.
High Priest of Penance
- When he takes damage, I can choose to destroy anything. It can really make an opponent think twice about attacking.
Banisher Priest
- Removes a creature from the board when he enters the battlefield. Delays them, and can open up the enemy for attacks.
Desecration Demon - Opponent must deal with him quickly, or they'll take a few big hits. He does a bit of removal as well because of that.
Other Creatures:
Blood Baron of Vizkopa - Hard to remove due to protection from most removal spells. Lifelink to get me some hp back as well.
Obzedat, Ghost Council
- recurring threat that leaches life and can hit fairly hard. Can bring back permanently with the Whip as well.
Additional Removal:
Hero's Downfall - Takes care of Planeswalkers and problem creatures.
Ultimate Price
- Many aggro decks are mostly made up of mono-coloured creatures. Useful against Black still as well.
Thoughtseize - the best enemy is one you never have to deal with.
Other spells:
Gift of Immortality - It combos really well with
Agent of the Fates
,
High Priest of Penance
,
Banisher Priest
, and Sin Collector. Plus, who's expecting it? Also keep in mind that I can kill my own creatures if needed for additional effects.
Gods Willing - Sometimes my own creatures will need a helping hand. Helps activate
Agent of the Fates
as well for a likely 2-for-1.
Whip of Erebos - There are a few good creatures worth bringing back, even if just for a turn. Obzedat stays back in the game as an added bonus.
Sideboard could likely use a bit of work still.
Any feedback would be wonderful. Thanks for reading!
