remember though if you drop a splicer with heartless out it will enter the battlefield and then get chucked into your graveyard.

ok tweaked deck, now have sum mentors for draw and splicer....because i actually like a 2/2 golemn for 1 with heartless and 4 power for 3 w/0...

just a couple of questions since this is my first time to use heartless, if i have a heartless out and cast a Blade Splicer can i card:Altar's Reap the splicer before it dies via heartless? also can i pay with mentor to draw (lets just ignore the golemn for a while)? help apreciated =)

U can't reap the splicer because it dies instantaneously when it hits the field, he does enter the battlefield though, so the trigger of the mentor does go on the stack, and if u pay u get to draw, but the splicer is gone by then. Also: because the golem enters as. A 2/2, you get to draw off him too

Also, i think you don't want 4 witches and curses, your curve looks way better with 3 of both. And i think you know how i feel about the archons, but let's not get into that :p

Vman says... #8

haha lol ok...although i do like 4 curses coz when all 4 are out it hurts so bad.....archeons ill try to find a sub because theres alot of exiling instead of dying these days....

Vman says... #9

playtesting shows, me gusta mentor...also archeon gets exiled more than killed so i am looking into viable subs atm.

Think of Bloodline Keeper  Flip  FlipMTG Card: Lord of Lineageanother mentorPhyrexian Rager (a handy blocker that cycles for 3, or a handy blocker that cycles for 1, a handy blocker thatdraws 2 for 4, or a handy blocker that draws 2 for 2 (depending on what's on the board :p)

Sheoldred?

Wurmcoil?

These are all options i think

Bloodline Keeper  Flip  FlipMTG Card: Lord of Lineage is an amazing ard but its tokens get weaker with heartless out...with 2 heartless out tokens die sadly....Phyrexian Rager is a great card but my second deck was very lifelink intensive and i really used it foir a while so you might see that im kinda not a fan of losing life...even if its just 1 life, but ill try it out for the sake of it.sheoldred?hmmmmmmmmmm....wurmcoil? already have it sided =P thx

Nice work with BW again Vman!

I'm not too sure about the Mentors. If you have two heartless out, they die and do absolutely no good. I would run perilous myr over them or something like that personally. I do like card draw, but they just seem too unstable.

+1

thx, im really a bw fan lol. mentors atm seem kinda good because i need to draw heartless to get this deck going/or enough stall to get mana up..mentors are great drawpower..although they do die to double heartless...this deck is still very unstable and is really in building blocks mode so i take almost any sugestions well and im trying to make this deck as good as it can be...thx for le +1 =)

Just a question, Have you tried running BW morbid experiment with heartless? Maybe your next big thing isn't something new, but just a really over the top addition. Like I'm all for what you got here, but I can't see it being a FMN threat. It can hold it's own, but it needs that dominating factor your last one had. You just need to find it using heartless.

I'm not trying to hate on what you have here. Just trying to provide something to go off of.

well the reason why i made this deck is because alot of people have sugested heartless in my other bw, but half my creaures there die if ide do that....well maybe not half but most..this deck may not seem like extremely much yet but you shouldve seen my the other deck when it started out, it was kinda shit lol. barely even did good in playtest..this deck is kinda oing better already being "descent" and hopefully itl do me sum good.

Yeah. heartless really limits your movement among the more powerful small creatures. If you were runnin B/U, B/R, or B/G I'd have a lot more help to provide.

All I can say is Revoke Existence or Divine Offering

i have 3x o-ring for anything pesky gererally....revoke and divine are great but tend to be useless sometimes =P but then again, sb seems to like them

did -1 mentor +1 o-ring. i dun wanna draw mentor when i have 2 heartless out as ppl point out.

Have you considered Sheoldred, Whispering One and Unburial Rites for some creature recursion?

Also, I noticed the combo a while back with Heartless Summoning and Bitterheart Witch , and I never even considered using it in tandem with card:Curse of Death's Hold. I'm a big dum dum. And I also a really, really big fan!

Have you considered just not playing a second heartless summoning? It seems bad to me all around, it will not really ever help you significantly enough to justify it, and not doing that allows you to play way better creatures in full, like mentor and bloodline keeper.

The tokens of bloodline keeper might just be 1/1, but if he flips they're 3/3's, and he allows you to not overcommit when you're expecting wraths, they have to deal with him or he will win you the game on his own, even as a 2/2 making 1/1's.

I don't think i'd ever play 2 heartless summonings alongside eachother, which could be a reason to make a deck not focused on the summoning, but use it as a 'side-engine' which coincidentally synergises with the summoning. A.k.a. a 3-of.

I'm not saying play less than 4, but consider it, it might be better. Or just play 4 and only cast 1, otherwise your force might just be too weak to get there.

I see what jessetaverne is saying. the best way to build a heartless is to not focus on it. maybe running another creature spell casting combo with Birthing Pod or Semblance Anvil . And then you narrow down your creatures for the ridiculous abilities and make sure most of them sit in that 2/2 area. If you started out focused on demons, Elsh Norn, Massacre wurm. And then Ran Bitterheart alongside that. That'd be a nice decklist.

You want the flexible deck, Use your curses is just the cover fire for the big guys. But running a B/W, you need to make it look like its your curses your after with heartless.

so 2-4 is your bitterheart play. You throw down some ridiculous curse. They panic and try to stop the curse so the focus on them. Turn 4-5 you lay down a nice rune-scarred or massacre or elsh norn. End of game.

I think i basically just redescribed your deck... And it's not as broken or as crappy as some of the comments make it sound.

Personally I would drop mentor and Splicer for some B removal. Dismember to play on the -/- theme. and maybe a big kicker like card:Sorin's Vengeance

@djgunn i had rites in here originally as a 2 of but i ended up taking it out due to the lack of targets really...@jessetaverne yeah i guess your right, ill just play one from now unless my hand requires me to play 2.my first time using heartless so im not exactly used to it yet..@Jokernaught im probably gonna stick with just heartless as my engine..ur description is actually how i run this deck really lol..heartless, with stall curse then end game with lady gaga..which reminds me, i need to put wurm in sb <.<..i like the sound of dismember in here actually..so ill try that instead of my current removal..card:Sorin's Vengeance i had in my firt competative deck as a 1 of game ender but in here im not so sure..but then again maybe as a 1 of agai itl be good..improbBLY KEEPING mentor as my draw which i need because not drawing heartless early/stall ruins my game plan..on the splicer i might drop it for Bloodline Keeper  Flip  FlipMTG Card: Lord of Lineage since me gusta vamps thx for help guys.
