Bloodline triggers mentors ability better then the splicer did. I approve. Which gives him a better reason to stay in.

hey :)

i like the idea of the deck but i think it's a little bit too slow because you're cards cost a lot of mana.if you don't get Heartless Summoning in the early game it will be to easy for aggro decks to kill you in round 4 or 5 before you can play you're JOD

Maybe you ahould maindeck 1 or 2. Aggro is played a lot these days ( dunno bout your meta though), and giving away game 1 against them is dangerous, sure the curses help, but if you don't get one until turn 5 there's a good chance theyve already killed you or are close enough to just burn you out.

Vman,

I love the concept! I have been looking at trying a heartless summoning combo for awhile and this will set me in the right direction!

Just a note, you have 4 Oblivion Ring s in your deck and 1 in sideboard.

I agree the mana curve is a little high. Personally i'd rather have Liliana of the Veil over Gideon Jura because she is 2 less to cast with a creature removal option.

I am pretty new to deck building so i may be wrong.

+1 from me!

=0 lol thx haha, that tends to happen when u switch MB/SB cards when ificxing a deck lol...i have 4x lili in sb for those slower decks or decks that run hexproof really...my deck doesnt have much early game to protect her especially since im t1 nothing t2 heartless..if i cast her t3 sheell likely die...jus sayin =P thx for the +1

If your willing to throw around Day of Judgment , card:Black Sun's Zenith will be just as favorable and may even keep your own creatures on the battlefield as most of them are relatively high power/toughness.

Cheers

I love Heartless too and have played around with a few decks. I breezed through the comments so don't crucify me if this is a repeat. Heartless Summoning only works on creature spells. It wouldn't work with CoDH, which is a combo you want right?

1- drop - maybe Despise? It would disrupt your opponent's early game while you but time.

kythegent says... #15

Lol. Disregard previous comment. I see you are using the demons to get them out. My suggestion would be to run Phyrexian Metamorphs since you only have two Demons. Why search for CoDH when you can bring out Massacre Wurm? It does look frustrating Deck to play against tho.

Plz check out this build if you have time. I need suggestions.

@gman yeah i always get the bsz vs doj thing whenever i try to make a bw deck...bsz CAN save my creatures, but also fail to wipe opponents board...in this deck heartless weakens my creats already, but curses hurt opponent more...but if i dun have curse out i might not be able to wipe wel...its tough but i do playtest and visualise so idk yet.@kythegent i dun really like small amounts of hand disruption, ik prevention of danger is great but maybe its more o a sb card.w/0 constant hand disruption throughout th deck i dun think its worth too much.umm idk if ya noticed but i dun search CoDH with demons, i use Bitterheart Witch 's effect to get em out...t2 heartless then t3 witch..then either block or reap it to get curse out..then try again t4..t5 i tend to demon into lady gaga/wurm if i sided it in..

@ Vman, nice combo. I was moving way too quickly. It's hard to suggest one-drops b/c of Heartless. I think SB with Despise is good, especially against a Dungrove or Thrun. I don't know if you want an aggro or control 1-drop, but consider Flayer Husk or Dead Weight . FlayerHusk would allow a small boost to some of your creatures to stay away from burn territory with Summoning out (bye bye, Elesh if they have an Incinerate or B-Volley), plus allowing you a blocker early game. With Dead Weight, you can take out early threats or even use on Solem if you need a card (not ideal, but I'm spitballing so not everything is going to be gold.)

Vman says... #20

hmmm yeah heartless does make things tricky...ill play test husky and Dead Weight in mb to see if theyr good..but imo im probably gonna go with husky, coz even later ingame hes not extremely bad. Despise will probably make sb when i find out what cards to take out...thx for help =)

now im gonna try out some 2 drops other than superion (which doesnt come out enough lol)

Heartless is such a broken card haha. I've been saying that since day one! I like this deck. Mentor of the Meek with Bloodline Keeper  Flip  FlipMTG Card: Lord of Lineage is creative. card:Altar's Reap fits nicely with those too. Trust me you need more low drops in case you don't get the Heartless early on. Changes I would make to trim what I feel is excess clunkiness are..

-1x Gideon Jura = He's awesome, but Rune-Scarred Demon can find him when and if you need him.

-2x Archon of Justice = To expensive and more fluent cards can be in it's place. Does what O-rings does anyway for the most part.

-1x Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite = she is nasty, but she doesn't need to be in this build, your curses take care of it. She'd just be overkill. Again, a more fluent card can be in it's place in case you don't get that Heartless early on.

-2x Rune-Scarred Demon = He's cool too, and I know you said he's your win condition, but you don't need him. Run Diabolic Tutor s instead, and use Wurmcoil Engine and Gideon Jura as your win.

That's 6 spots open you can play around with =)

Personally for these spots..

+2x Wurmcoil Engine s. Nothing is worse then a heartless summoned Wurmcoil Engine haha.

+1x Mentor of the Meek

+3x Diabolic Tutor

Looking first glance at the sideboard, Lili seems kinda useless in this deck, don't you think?

Thought I check to see how far it had evolved Lol.

I don't think Any planeswalker really works in this deck. I wondered from day one what Jura was doing.

My advice is stick with the Tutoring and demons. Drop all planeswalkers to your sideboard. Build around Bloodline, Mentor, O-rings and Heartless. Then run with Wurmcoils, Witches, And Gaga. Toss in Massacre and the curses and run Black heavy.

I don't know how much is changed but if you focused around just creatures, Heartless would pop. Planeswalkers I think slow your deck down. Jura becomes a indestructible creature but that means he gets all your heartless -/-. Why do that to him? Lilli really tries hard to fit in but she is just a ornament. Focus on the -/- And I agree with the comment above, You need to play with your wurms. Lmao

ok ill make changes....taking out gideon..im keeping gaga coz once i have a curse out or get a demon, i tutor her and sweep board+end the game...wurm is in SB for those decks with weaker creatures so getting him out alone ends the game/..im probably gonna stick with demon tutor btw, coz hes a tutor on a big stick.about archeon ill take them out i supose..another mentor seems good for the draw i supose, le Wurmcoil Engine can go in mb since i dun have a 6 drop anyhowz..lili is in sb coz i prefer her over Tribute to Hunger against hexproof..its coz of the fact that i can use her again afterwards.

ill make changes once i get home.
