OGW Update —Jan. 8, 2016
With KTK and FRF cycling out, I dropped out harsh sustenance and utter end. I have swapped out Utter end for Ruinous Path.
I also moved Bloodbond Vampire to the sideboard in favor of Cliffhaven Vampire. Still pouring over the new OGW cards to see what else would have decent synergy with the life gain triggers in this deck. Right now Cliffhaven Vampire is the only clear winner that lept out to me.
How about Ondu Cleric to gain faster life, I think it's a faster way to gain life, isn't it? With 2 Felidar Sovereign your draw probability isn't soo good... Ever thought about using Diabolic Tutor? So you could search after your win condition card? I think a card like Ghostway or Cloudshift would also be a good addition to trigger and incrase your life, to draw cards I found some solutions like To Arms! or Niveous Wisps so you can draw a card and get a positive effect too.

Aless55, thank you for the input. Once this deck cycles out into modern, I will definitely give that a thought. Right now this deck has been crafted for Standard :)

If you would go over budget and add some Gideons in here, what will you drop for him? Or do you think Gideon will be unnecessary here even if costs $0.01?

Gideon would certainly be a boon to the deck, if he wasn't $35+ currently I'd drop the 2 Sovereigns for 2 Gideons. A free Ally token per turn would be amazing, it would fuel the Healers, they'd be cannon fodder blockers/attackers to fuel cutthroat when they die, they'd be easy targets to use reaps or bone splinters on, etc etc.
As he is right now, however; adding those two would blow the budget out of the water.

Do you think Retreat to Emeria would be beneficial in this deck?

Retreat to Emeria does not work. When I tested it, I never played it. Turn 4 or 5 you want to get Bloodbond Vampire out, then double down on the 1 and 2 mana creatures to trigger Kalastria Healer thus triggering Bloodbond Vampire. Once an there is an opening to play Retreat to Emeria most of your mana is out.
It does not fall under the budget build but a 4 drop to kick in the triggers is Gideon.

retreat to ameria would work thoug hsince your putting in an ally which triggers kalastrias ability

How about adding Ondu Rising. It's cheap and you'll trigger the life gain effects with every creature you attack.

HunterEste Hey I'm doing a deck build very similar to yours and was wondering if you had any advice on how I could work in Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Sorin, Solemn Visitor? Or do you perhaps know a planeswalker that works well with this deck? I'm new to this and looking to build something strong. But I really like the synergy you have in this deck.

HunterEste Also just curious on what your thoughts were on this do you think trading out Altar's Reap for Angelic Gift work work well in this deck? or even going half/half. Creatures would be able to attack without being able to be blocked without flying or reach and still have card drawing.

Akrylios I have been thinking about Ondu Rising but with Lantern Scout triggers with any other ally, almost seams like a waste.
Trupianom 45% of the time I play Altar's Reap is for blocking, sac. 45% of the time play it with March from the Tomb in hand with and Kalastria Healer on board, 10% of the time hoping to get a March from the Tomb. I run 3 Altar's reap, but thinking about cutting to two and running 1 or 2 Read the Bones

Trupianom, I like reap more because the sacrifice triggers triggers the Cutthroat and provides more fodder to pull from the graveyard with March from the Tomb

HunterEste Thanks for the reply. Yeah I just been learning more about the game lately. So I didn't really know which creatures you would usually use Altar's Reap on. Also I ended up getting Read the Bones to try out. If I end up spending the money I'm going to work Gideon, Ally of Zendikar into the deck since he seems to synergize well with this deck.

just a reminder Bone Splinters is sorcery... You can't swing and them use it to sac. (this is from the desc btw)
