Designed to get under the current meta, with response to board wipes via Athreos (prevent) and Mardu Strike Leader (next turn pressure)

I run a healthy complement of cheap enchantment based removal Crippling Blight , Banishing Light main board to help trigger Athreos. This is also a great way to just push damage through game 1 against creature decks. I had tried Oppressive Rays with some success.

It is very Brutal to drop a Brutal Hordechief on turn 4 and it can just end the game if they can't immediately remove him. Opponents without cheap removal generally just cave into the pressure in straight games.

Erebos can work wonders against whip or courser decks that try to hang on via life gain. I have had some comments that this is a sub-optimal strategy, so I am trying to examine it, but I am often very happy with how it plays out.

This deck is very, very, effective. It can often win games with only 2 or three lands in play. It has had incredible results both online and in REL tournament play, including a GPT win on 03-15-2015!
