@Parasitian Interesting, I kinda wanted to use solemn simulacrum specifically for the fact that I had a couple copies of him and wanted to try him out. Though, looking at it, I like the idea of just replacing him with actual land. Appreciate the feedback, thank you.

Put in Birthing Pod , works wonders. Why not Killing Wave , it is usually a great finisher for the deck? This is my current zombie list, black white as well. The deck is a ton of fun and has beaten every deck I have ran it against (including some modern decks): Zambies, The Bungie Jumping Kind, I hope it provides some examples.

@DawnRayofLight: Birthing Pod isn't in here if only because I don't really enjoy the card, flavor wise. I did, however, toy around with the idea of using it. About Killing Wave I will likely start sideboarding 2 of them. I know how useful it can be/is, but I think that it is too situational to be given a place in the main deck. Speaking of sideboard, I gotta get some Doom Blade for the "I love Artifact" crowd...
I appreciate the feedback for sure and I'll definitely check out your deck for some ideas.

I haven't played Zombies in Standard but I sure am liking this list. Great work!
+1!

and by the way, would this work?
- Pod -> Messenger
- Messenger dies
- Messenger Undying triggers
- Slam down Restoration Angel
- Blink Messenger
That would be so awesome if it could. Great!

@Razor05: I don't see why that wouldn't work. Pod the messenger --> Undying --> Restoration Angel --> Pod --> Undying(because the exile drops the +1/+1 token if I'm not mistaken)
Also, thanks so much for the +1 :)

It does, which is why I run Birthing Pod in my zombie list, T3 Play messenger pod messenger, trigger blood artist, fetch angel, blink messenger 7 damage. Next turn swing, pod messenger, angel, blink, Killing Wave , game.

Yup, card:Geralf's Messenger is one of if not the BEST zombie in the environment at the moment. For BBB you get a mindless killing zombie machine.
I do that same thing DawnsRayofLight, except I use Mortarpod which gives me one damage extra when I burn off my Messenger.

I really like the idea of B/W Zombies. Plus only Fume Spitter , Mortarpod , and Go for the Throat are rotating.

I suggest Vile Rebirth from M13. its like a 2/2 one drop with flash.
oh yeah, +1

I would add a board sweeper - how do you deal with tokens deck? It would also help with hexproof creatures because you don't really have an answer for that.
Otherwise - sweet Zombie deck :)

Sweepers are up in the air for me in this deck. Killing Wave , as you mentioned in your deck list, is a hard spell to cast. Giving my opponent a choice is not a great thing and is arguably the downside to that card. I could run Mutilate for tokens in my sideboard and hope I can outrun it Game 1. Another option I just noticed was white provides me with Day of Judgment . A very solid sweep, only issue is do I side in a Plains with it if I run it? I did put Rain of Blades in my side deck for the token match. It seems to fit my curve a lot better and should be a nice surprise when tokens swing big on me.

Other than that, I appreciate the comment :)
I'll be updating the update spot after today's tournament.
September 2, 2012 3:03 p.m.
Day of Judgment is double white, while card:Geralf's Messenger is triple black - chances are you will be unable to cast one when you need to.
I would loose Rain of Blades - token decks often run Honor of the Pure , Intangible Virtue or even Favorable Winds (that's an interesting variant) so often 1 damage to attacking creature will be too little already.
Perhaps I was wrong suggesting a sweeper other than Killing Wave - zombie deck should get an opponent low on life quickly and then they might not be able to pay life for their creatures.

+1 from me. B/W Zombies has to be my favorite zombie variant out there. I noticed in your last tournament you said you were cursed and always lost the first round, which is funny, because I am also cursed with the same thing. I can never win round 1. But quick question. Did you have Sorin in here? He could be good here. The emblem might be just a final push for the win, or vamp tokens for blockers

I have been tossing around the idea of utilizing Sorin in this build actually. I honestly am not even 100% sure why I haven't even really tested him yet. I think planeswalkers are just strange to me(I played from Mercadian Masques up to Fifth Dawn and just started back up again with Avacyn Restored) and I tend to shy away from them for that reason.
It's funny, the curse. I don't know what it is. I cannot win round 1.
Also, agreed. B/W Zombies is definitely leaps and bounds for me more fun than the typical builds(B/R and B/U). I tested both and I definitely enjoyed the feel of B/W over the other 2 a lot more. Thanks for the +1.

I'd run Sorin in there as a 2x of at least. You won't need him every game, but if you get him, he will help you if you need it.

Yeah, I'm probably going to pick a couple up. Drop him in Cloudshift s or Mortarpod s spot after it rotates. I appreciate the suggestion.

I'd take out highborn ghoul for disciple of Bolas.

I would take out solemn simulacrum for three more lands because nothing costs over 4 mana anyway, so the ramp from him is useless. ALSO 20 lands is way too little for zombies. Just add 2 more plains and a swamp, trust me.
