Game 1: VS B/W/R 1-2 Loss
R1: His mainboard wasn't much of a match against mine, He was using Cartel Aristocrats, Blood Artist, Doomed Traveler and Lingering souls to sack creatures, heal him, give protection to his Aristocrat so on so forth, but with a couple of abrupt decays on his Blood Artists rendering him powerless against a battlefield of huge creatures, I pulled the win on this one.
R2: He sideboarded out most of his low mana cost creatures making my abrupt decays worthless for the most part and while tapped out, he played Boros Reckoner and Blasphemous act to bring the win in.
R3: I was pounding him down with a fairly large Lotleth, but a mess up on my behalf (Swung with a lotleth he blocked them tragic slipped) plus getting mana screwed and allowing him to take board advantage let him bring the win in on this one.
Game 2: R/U Counter Deck 2-1 Win
R1: This was a weird deck to play against, He played Goblin Electromancer turn 2, turn 3 he played Stolen Goods (a card which I had never seen before) and with me having such big creatures, he inevitably pulled a Angel of Serenity exiling what board advantage I previously had and beating me down before I could do much of anything.
R2: He didn't pull anything crucial and I killed what he did pull with abrupt decay. Quick win
R3: Essentially the same as the last game, only with less resistance.
Game 3: Naya Aggro 2-1 win
R1: He didn't get mana, and I overran him before he could do anything.
R2: He got mana, I didn't, He used a fencing ace in conjunction with bloodrush to bring this win home.
R3: I had to mulligan to 5 on this one, He put out his first fencing ace, and I wasted no time in killing it off, He got out a second fencing ace and attempted to do the same as he did last game but had apparently tapped the incorrect mana (he said if he had done it correctly he would've killed me), biding me enough time to overrun him with craterhoof.
Game 4: W/U/B/G Bant Reanimator
R1: Quite possibly the longest game I have ever played, He dissipated most of my Unburial Rites which screwed me, but the game lasted so long(40 some minutes) I had enough mana to cast anything. He used Rise from the Grave in conjuction with Alchemists Refuge to counteract what unburial rites I did get off (Targeting my target creature) and brought the game home with a Angel of Serenity.
R2: Believing I was inevitably going to be defeated and with only 9 minutes left. I sided in some enchant removal and Aurelia, for kicks and giggles.Round 2 I got out a lotleth and pumped him to a 5/4. I grisly salvaged Aurelia and Unburial rites round 3, I proceeded to beat him in the face, getting him down to 10, but he miracled terminus, round 5 played Aurelia, He responded by blocking continuously with a Restoration Angel, until he exiled her with Angel of Serenity, I severed the bloodline on his Angel of Serenity bringing back one of my own and Aurelia (Which I have no red mana so unless I got a lotleth it was worthless) I played a Griselbrand which he responded by Detention Sphere exiling him, I passed the turn he tapped out with Sphinx of Revelation, I abrupt decayed Detention Sphere at the end of his turn, brought out a Craterhoof and shook his hand to bring in the win. (Those beastly 6/6 Avacyn Pilgrims are great!)
R3: with 0:00 left on the clock, and a win deciding who would get 2 packs instead of 1, we rolled for game 3 and I won, so he conceded game three to me.
Overall I think it did pretty well, I need to test it out again next weekend. Check back for updates!
