Just trying to make a half decent R/B/W allies deck. I got the ally intro deck for BFZ (group of 5 of us, we each get one every time they are released and build around it) and have been building it up slightly. Managed to pull 2 Drana's and Ob Nix out of boosters, so wanted to use them in it as well.
The theme is just life link/beat down. I often have a problem attacking as I can't take the return fire, but with enough life it should be easy.
I'll go through my thinking for the cards, but be warded, I am not very experienced when it comes to this stuff:
Planes Walker
1x
Ob Nixilis Reignited
- Pulled him out of a pack, want to use him. Getting extra cards will help late game where I could loose steam.
Creatures
This needs the most work, I know that I want some cards, but others (firemantle and Makindi) might not be the best thing to add.
4x Drana, Liberator of Malakir - What is not to love with this card.
4x Drana's Emissary - Flying life link.
4x Kalastria Healer - Triggers with March as well as every other ally.
4x Lantern Scout - Gives everyone life link.
4x
Kor Bladewhirl
- First strike often means I can attack and not get hurt.
4x Firemantle Mage - This card has won me so many games, but is the only (currently) red in the deck... so not sure if its really worth the splash.

Makindi Patrol
- Not sure if needed... Vigilance is nice as it means I can defend, but with the extra life link I might not need these any more.
Spells
Not knowing what is really out there for standard, I have stuck in what I know to work along with a nuke card.
4x Stasis Snare - Gets rid of things.
4x
Retreat to Emeria
- Nice to have free ally tokens. Helps late game when I run out of cards to trigger Allies with as it triggers with landfall.
4x March from the Tomb - With the Healers, I can deal some major damage when they come back.
1x End Hostilities - Helps with the above card as well as a get out of jail card when stuff gets too tough.
Mana Base
Currently I have just stuck every non basic that I own in here that fits with the colors, although I know its not going to work as nicely since most if it is coming into play tapped.
4x
Ally Encampment
- I think a must if I am going for an allies deck.
4x Caves of Koilos - I can't afford the proper lands, but do have 4 of these.
4x Smoldering Marsh - Managed to get 2 of these out of packs, can trade up to 4.
4x Shambling Vent - Again, pulled a couple and really like them so wanted then in, fits with the life link.
I would like to add in 4x Evolving Wilds to allow me to trigger my retreat to Emeria on the other guys turn, I can't seem to find (other than fetch lands) any other way to do it. Maybe that is too cute though.
As for Plains, Mountains and Swamps... I have no idea what to put in.
Finally I know I am at over 60 cards... need help to sort this deck out and get it to 60 and nice and streamlined.
