Where is the Psychic Strike? I would also add in a Liliana of the Dark Realms with Mind Grind

Another good creature to look at that I use is Wight of Precinct Six . It gets bigger with the opponents graveyard - cost 2 mana to drop. If worried about Tarmogoyf deck it's a great sideboard option.

For a modern deck this seems very slow. You'll probably get yourself eaten alive before you could ever cast Lord of the Void or other big cards with CMC over 4. If I were you, I would shift the mana curve way more left.

Raise Hedron Crab from 2x to 4x, it's one of the nicest cheap mill cards there is. If you use that, you can also alter your mana base to trigger the Landfall more often by using Terramorphic Expanse , Evolving Wilds and/or Dimir Aqueduct . You could also use more Mind Funeral and have Mind Sculpt or Increasing Confusion in there as well. To sabotage the opponent's key cards, I'd also have 4x Surgical Extraction , at least in my sideboard.

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

Removed a Crypt Incursion and Haunting Echoes .

I agree on the curve being too high so i removed Lord of the Void and added 2 Hedron Crab .

I'd love to add Increased Confusion or another Mind Funeral, but ibhave no clue on what to drop for them, so if you have any suggestions be my guest :)

would try to keep it as standard as possible to take to an fnm. keep it simple dont try to do too much with it or it wont work. throwing just 1 copy of a card is not going to make any difference stick to sets of 3 or 4 that are critical to the deck and then 3's or 2's of the other stuff. you want a consistent deck that has the ability to adapt to the game if it isnt going your way but till get the job done in a effective and reliable way

Mill in standard at fnm is not the type of deck to win, not with the amount of control decks out there at the moment that's why i didn't bother making it standard.

The reason i run a few singles is cause some just aren't that usefull a second time (e.g. Traumatize ), but i do agree on the consistency part, that's why i posted the deck on tapped cause i can't decide what to drop and what not.

But 1 consuming and 1 mind funeral 1 elixir and 1 countersquall arent going to do any good they are just sitting there in your deck wasting away because the chances drawing them are so slim its not worth it and a lot of the control decks that i have seen around where i play and live anyways are very heavily filled with creature and enchantment removal. its hard to stop a systematic deck that is constantly putting out mill when most of it isnt creatures. they may have counterspells but how many can they possibly have before it comes to the point they run out and you get ashiok out and with the mill it will help get rid of those counterspells. also a good combo if you are that worried is ashiok with jace memory adept. 0 ability is opponent mills 10 cards.

Thanks, that gave me an idea for some usefull swaps :).

I'd like to keep this at around $30 though so there are some cards i can't add. I also like to run 24 land (2 land to have a mana dump for milling in case of an unlucy draw or leftover mana at the end of my opponents turn) cause i want to be sure that i am able to play phenax as soon as possible.

I'll see if i can find some more ways to improve it

Didn't read all the comments, but if they have not yet been suggested, I would highly recommend Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker and Consuming Aberration

@Sebster - Thnx for your comment :)

I'm running a single Mirko Vosk, cause i didn't want to flood the deck with lots of 5 drops. I used to have Consuming Aberration in this deck, but it's mana cost is also 5 and his ability would rarely trigger because his power would be too big to take a hit from, that's also why i favored Mirko Vosk over him since he has an evasive passive ability. The reason i only run a single (which i'm not a big fan of) is to keep the deck an actual budget deck since i decided to add a second Phenax instead cause of it's synergy with the phantasms and walls.

I didnt read all the comments but I do think that adding a Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank would be awesome. I also recommend Nightveil Spectre? and Ashiok, Dream Render

Overall though I love this deck, the budget is good and it is well constructed so it's a huge +1 for me.

Not to mention, Dimir Mil is my favorite and this feels similar to a deck if mine, What a nice deck you have...Aaand it's gone
