ADVICE AND COMMENTARY GLADLY ACCEPTED AND DESIRED. This is a remake of another Spirit deck I had on here. I think it still needs some fine tuning, but that's half the fun of building a deck is refining it, no? For starters, make use of that first turn to set up a Doomed Traveler if you have one in your hand. He's always good, especially if you can get him killed for his spirit token and/or chip away at the enemy's life points early on. Niblis of the Urn is a great second turn creature just for her ability to stun (tap) enemy creatures when she attacks. Again, great for getting that early lead which can make all the difference later on. To help the spirits really shine, they need to have buffs to make up for their below average (for their mana cost) power and toughness, which is why Favorable Winds and Door of Destinies are in the deck. Call to the Kindred helps sift through the deck as well as get your guys out much more quickly (debating adding more of them in, but don't know what to swap out). Probably the most important creature in this deck is Good ol' Drogskol Captain. He's snazzy with his tricorn hat, and also buffing all spirits and making them hexproof is never a bad thing. Make use of the Midnight Haunting and Lingering Souls to keep a steady stream of creatures on the field. Dungeon Geist is great for maintaining control of the field by permanently paralyzing enemies, and his decent 3/3 stats unbuffed aren't bad either especially since he can fly. Stormbound Geist is another really good attacker, since he returns to the field even stronger if anything kills him thanks to his undying ability. This works really well with door, winds, and captain because those buff without actually applying a +1/+1 counter to him, meaning his undying will still kick in even if any or all of them are out alongside him. Not sure if his revival would trigger door of destinies and buff him again, I don't think so but if I'm wrong let me know. Use Oblivion Ring to keep the riff-raff off the field while you rack up tokens and creatures, just in time for Geist-Honored Monk. If you have enough guys out when this card comes into play, it can prove devastating especially since you get two additional tokens. Just make sure you're safe in playing it, preferably by trying to bait the opponent into using their control and removal on other, less useful creatures. Voiceless Spirit 's a good all around third turn critter to have, and after a buff from favorable winds, can take out such threats as Vampire Nighthawk or other creatures with annoying abilities like deathtouch. There are probably better counter spells for this deck, but Geist Snatch is both fitting of the theme and funny as hell in the right situation. Someone's about to play the most powerful creature in their deck, and instead they give you another trooper for your army of the dead. Drogskol Reaver is there mainly because I have one, and I payed for it so I'm going to use it. To be fair, he's not a bad card at all. In fact, in a blue-white lifegain deck, his abilities would make him absolutely devastating late game. Same rule for this deck, even though his importance is admittedly not as marked. He's great after the buffs for just clobbering the enemy's side of the field, and replenishing your life if you're getting a bit low (this can come in handy if your opponent has some or a lot of burn in their deck). The real thing to note is his double strike, and the fact that any time you gain life, you draw a card. Needless to say, this means that his double strike pretty much guarantees you two free draws, and that can be essential for breaking a stalemate, or getting the card you needed to turn a losing battle into a winning one. I still welcome any suggestion on what I could use in his place. I purposefully left out Intangible Virtue, good as it is, because I just thought door of destinies is a better option for the long haul, although in playtesting I found that I didn't get as much benefit from it as I expected, so any suggestions there would be much appreciated. I'm going for something that buffs everyone, not just tokens. Intangible virtue's great, but if I'm sitting pretty with one or two tokens and a niblis on the field, I'd rather have Niblis buffed also. Just saying. Perhaps that just means more favorable winds, or maybe there's an even better option.
