Amongst other problems in this deck, why Shadowborn Apostle ? without demons its just 1/1 vanilla for 1 mana. No offense, but modern is way more competitive than standard. In standard it'll easier to get in the game and learn the cards there.

I really like this deck, if only for the sheer Timmy aspect of it (and we can all appreciate a fun Timmy deck). I would suggest running more copies of both Liliana and Garruk, because right now you could go an entire game without drawing them.

Oh, and there's no reason to run it as a Modern deck - it's too slow and too unpredictable. As a Standard deck, however, I think it could be really fun.

I have the Shadowborn Apostle in there temporarily. I was building this deck late last night and I couldn't be bothered to look for better one-drops. I was going to look for better ones today, but a friend of mine suggested some good demons, which would help me draw Garruk and some tough flyers, when needed. It should be much more competitive in a few hours.

I was mainly aiming for a Standard deck. At school, we have a Modern league, but the finals will be in standard. I wanted to use the Modern-legal cards to my advantage to advance in the league, then just change the deck when the time comes.

Can I just mention that I have a budget of no more than 100, preferably around 80, so another Garruk, Caller of Beasts is not likely to be used.

The numbers were in British Pound, by the way. I don't know why the Pound sign has disappeared.

Diabolic Tutor or Lead the Stampede would be awesome in your deck =) especially Lead the Stampede

Where could I include Lead the Stampede ? I'm in a situation where every single card is important. I have considered Diabolic Tutor , but I realised that with Shadowborn Apostle and Rune-Scarred Demon and afterwards, Garruk, Caller of Beasts it's not really needed.

I have managed to squeeze in four Lead the Stampede , yay!

Actually it is hard for me to understand how long it will take you to kill an enemy. I went through your decklist and if I got that right you will at best have your wurm out on the 6th turn after you have played garruk.

Well, I usually play 22 lands in 60 cards deck. So you could drop 3 lands. Or you could also change the whole deck and instead of playing those apostle you play with real card draw like: Geralf's Messenger and Disciple of Bolas

This deck is so slow, also if you play demon (it's hard) your opponent destroy it and game over! the wurm is unplayable without major mana accelerators and 1x garruk is hard to draw...I recommend you change the deck and should rely not only on the big creatures, play 22 lands to the maximum.Do not take it amiss, you're free to play the cards you want, good luck ;)

The terramorphics and wilds are pointless in a dual colored deck

Yeah, you're right. I'm putting in the changes now. The lands will be dropped. You commented during the change. :)

First, I'll test the deck at school. I'll see how effetive it is and then I'll try to make bigger changes.

Well you don't have to drop the idea of playing reaaaaallyyyyy big creatures. When I began to play magic I was really into big creatures myself. Put in some ramp like Llanowar elf or Birds of Paradise and then you can play for instance Quicksilver Amulet . It does not only let you play big fattys for four mana, you can also play your creatures at instant speed! =) Also you could try out Somberwald Sage

cheers, Noc

right! there is the Elvish Piper for play the big creatures ;)

+1 just for including 4 worldspine wurms in one deck!

November 23, 2013 4:42 p.m.

+1 for sideboarding Putrefy ... now they only have to make it into your deck =)

Worldspine wurm is anti syngery with treasure find, it will be shuffled away before you can get it back. You defiantly need some ramp to get to the mana costs where you can play these big cards, there is a lot of cheap 1 - 2 mana elves and such to do this that you should consider instead of the shadowborn apostle approach. I don't think you want to be running the evolving wilds and terramorphic, theres some cheap lands that you can tap for both colours (woodland cemetery etc) that are just better.

On the other hand if you want to go with the shadowborn plan, add more demons :P

Urgh, some website had a list of duel-lands and I couldn't find anything like Woodland Cemetery ! Thank you!

I'll consider both approaches tomorrow.

Question:Do I really need Treasured Find ? It could only really use it on Garruk, Caller of Beasts and the probablility of drawing it is 1 in 15. Should I replace it with four strong Demons?

November 24, 2013 5:58 a.m.

kingofcramers says... #24

yes, definitely. there's really no point of having 16 shadowborn apostles with only one demon

November 24, 2013 7:43 a.m.

kubissx says... #25

Or even better, replace all four Treasured Find with four more Shadowborn Apostle because if I am planning to draw 6 ASAP, I really need to get more.
