Can I AT LEAST Cast a Storm Crow?!?!??! No.

And it's not because it isn't Standard...

One deck to rule them all! At least while it lasts in Standard...

Good thing I have all the lands so it's within my budget! But you probably have 800 copies of Snapcaster Mage already...

#Premise, Purpose, & Plan

Much like most Esper decks, this one features the art of counterspells, removal, and - shall I say - a bit more interesting board wipes along with great card draw values. The U/B/W deck stalls out the opponent with Scatter to the Winds, Foul-Tongue Invocation, and Utter End while finding the ripest moments to set off a Dig Through Time. Finally, summon Dragonlord Ojutai, Myth Realized, and Silumgar, the Drifting Death to rofl stomp the opponent.

#Utility

Not many cards have such versatility for control decks as does Ojutai's Command. While the Soul of Winter also commands countering a creature spell, I stuck this one in here because of it's ability to recover and draw plus countering a creature spell - all of which are unbelievably helpful and nice. On the other hand, Icefall Regent truly shuts down some important threats while bringing a beautiful shiny blue dragon to help with hard counters like Silumgar's Scorn. Don't forget KTK's famous blue card that even changed Legacy decks, Dig Through Time. On top of this, Despise helps take out prominent threats before they enter the battlefield like Liliana, Heretical Healer  .

#Removal

Not every creature will be countered. That doesn't mean that they won't be blown up by Planar Outburst which also provides well-round coverage late-game with its Awaken ability. On the other hand, protecting your precious dragons but erasing the opponent's creatures with a Crux of Fate remains a renowned tactic. Utter End as well as Foul-Tongue Invocation can also catch the opponent's biggest creature off guard in a split-second. Overall, the removal eats their creatures and not ours which is a good thing unless you're the opponent.

#Sideboard

Stasis Snare takes care of any huge threats. Ruinous Path and Ultimate Price are just more ways to get more removal although Stasis Snare takes care of it more effectively because of Flash. Erase because we all make mistakes? This sideboard needs work :C
