Canadian Threshold - 2015

Legacy Competitive Delver RUG (Temur) Tempo

wbw

Sideboard

After Treasure Cruise's banning, RUG Delver is back!

The core of the deck is very tight, with little room for improvements or personal touchs. Still, here is a tweaked version of an old classic. Out goes some Tarmogoyf, in goes blue's finest 3cc creatures. Keep in mind that Wastelands can be usefull to cast the 3cc creatures and the extra two cantrips will also help finding the third land.

On the so called flex slots, the Spell Pierces are pretty standard. Fire/Ice is a personal preference over Forked Bolt , however I would not run more than one. Spell Snare is a great catch all, but it could be another Spell Pierce or the first Forked Bolt . Finally, Gitaxian Probes are great for new players of the deck or rusty ones (like myself). More experienced players may choose to play more business spell over them.

The proposed sideboard is for an unknown meta.

Comparing to the default list:

Pros:

  • More evasive threats;
  • More resilient threats;
  • More blue cards for Force of Will;
  • Cheaper! (Goyf is unreasonably expensive)

Cons:

  • Higher mana curve;
  • Slower clock.
