Can't stop the ramp (Green/Blue)

Casual

iloreplica

Am I going into right direction?

My first built deck is kind of in an evolving state. Originally I tried to make a mono-green ramp deck, but eventually noticed that some counterspells and could be useful until I get to the big creatures. So, green/blue it became. Basically a mix and match of the card I got in Origins deck builder's toolkit and 500-ish extras I got from my friends.

Later I bought the Swarming Instinct BfZ intro deck and I took some colorless stuff as well as some Eldrazi to make my deck a bit more formidable.

Basic idea is to turn 1 mana elf, turn 2 Harrow into Rampant Growth or more elves and then just slam through with big trampler or continue into the bigger Eldrazi.

Soul of the Harvest and Hedron Archive serve multiple purposes with card draw, which is quite needed in the later steps.

So, returning to the original question. Where to take this basically no-cost ramp deck? I like the idea of "Early and BIG", even with the risk of having quite easily distracted ramp. The counterspells and return-to-hands are useful, but should I bother with them in the long run? Should I go just mono-green and take Plummet and more force fight cards? Now I'm just about ready to make my first direct card purchases and I kind of would like to know what kind of options I have.

I'd like to keep this deck also modern legal, just in case I ever get to the stage that I'll be playing more actively.
