When I first started playing Magic, I often get excited when buying packs and I end up spending a hell lot of money for them. Then I realized that I'm not really into the competitive side of Magic. So now, I've decided to play constructed on a budget! :D
This Mono-Green Budget Deck focuses on winning early in the game by pumping, while providing great defenses.
Let's see the breakdown:
Elvish Mystic for the usual green ramp strategy.
Sedge Scorpion is a 1/1 creature with Deathtouch. Just its presence on the field is already something to consider.
Wasteland Viper , a 1/2 creature with Deathtouch, and has Bloodrush for one mana. So, if any of your creatures attacks, and your opponent carelessly blocks them, Viper may be able to save your creature by providing more toughness, and killing the defending creature as well.
Deadly Recluse . Deathtouch with Reach? Hell yeah. The worst nightmare of big evasive bombs like Desecration Demon / Stormbreath Dragon , Archangel of Thune , etc.
Worried about creatures with first strike? Giant Growth may be able to help you with that. One Giant Growth isn't enough? Then use two! It's only worth one mana anyway.
So your opponent just brought out a devastating Midrange creature and all you have is a puny little arachnid? Fear not! Boon Satyr will come and save you anytime, at instant speed!
Deadbridge Goliath a 5/5 for 4 mana. It's not only useful on the field, it's also useful in the Graveyard. Scavenge it for 6 mana and make your creatures bigger.
The mean, green, fighting machine, Arbor Colossus . If Deadly Recluse couldn't handle the big flying creatures. Well, your big man shall make them perish.
Bow of Nylea, if 3 creatures with Deathtouch isn't enough. Make all your creatures a threat!
Pit Fight. First and Double Strikers against my Deathtouchers? HOW ABOUT NO?...
All these just under $30.00!
