Early Game Consistency —May 21, 2015

So, I'm very satisfied with the end game of the deck. It turned out exactly as I had planned; however, I'm not too happy with how the deck runs early. I always feel like I have no clear direction until I stumble upon enough lands to cast my commander.

The next thing I will be working on is getting a clear and concise beginning game plan. I might add some artifact cantrips like Chromatic Star and Chromatic Sphere to help plow through the early parts of the deck.

What I'm getting at is, I feel like more cards than I want in the 1-3 CMC range really have no impact on how I play the rest of the game and I feel like that needs to be corrected.

Feldon of the Third Path really opens up a whole new avenue with Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient. A lot of the red commander 2014 cards are artifact oriented as well. You might like my standard mono-red mill that uses kurkesh + Grindstone: Mono Red Mill.

Now that i've been playing my Kurkesh's Combo Time! over the last few months, and definitely found the charge/+1 counter strategy to be a little slow, and kinda spotty. Mine's now super streamlined to just play and find as many 2 and 3 card combos as possible.

Gemstone Array turns all of your infinite generic combos into infinite colored, which helps a lot. Clock of Omens is SO good, i'm amazed you aren't playing it. With the number of wheel effects you play, a Mind's Eye would be huge draw power, provided you have some extra mana.I've also found that Treasonous Ogre can make the usual turn 4-5 combos happen much faster, if you're willing to put yourslef down low enough to do it.

Any comments or suggestions for me would be great. Thanks!

This deck looks INSANE, but I'm not sure about some of the synergies. Check the rulings on taking extra turns and controlling opponents' turns. You might consider adding Armillary Sphere (unless you have no problem with mana.) I just read Burnished Hart, it will go in every EDH deck I build from now on.

Geosurge is great for an artifact deck.

Really nice deck... Would you take a look at my budge version of a Kurkesh's deck.

I love this, and I believe this deck is funny, to say the least.
