@ Xenagonian : Day of Destiny is a nice card, but not a game changer that could change momentum in my deck. I have plenty of non-legendaries present as well. Same counts for Hero's Blade and Heroes' Podium. The card Konda's Banner is indeed a nice asset, but it's impact is limited in this Captain Sisay build. I did try to put Tolsimir Wolfblood once, but could not decide what could replace it for. Reki, the History of Kamigawa was in my original build. But there is enough carddraw/tutor atm and I did't had the 'time' to look for him, as other options proved more important each time. Sadly....

Thanks for your imput. It's always appreciated!

@ inkslingerxx : Rhys the Redeemed seems like a viable card, especially to boost Gaea's Cradle efficiency. Added to my maybeboard for a next deck revision. Emmara Tandris only combo's well with token style play. I do not see it's potential in my build, if it only combo's well with Rhys the Redeemed.

Thanks for your comment!

@ Bnon : Thanks for your comment. As asasinater13 also mentioned, I do not mind them getting the life. An extra land is far more valuable in EDH. I do not want them to ramp due to my actions xD

@ thehat : Thanks again for your indepth input.

After a new thought about your comments about Sun Titan and Hua Tuo, Honored Physician I decided to make room for this change. Being only 3 mana and fetchable proves more worthy and versatile in the end. I agree...

Heliod, God of the Sun I will give it a try. The control part, where it can boost Gaea's Cradle's output does sounds like it should get a playtest chance after all.

I am doubting to add mana ramp in this deck to speed up the presence of Sisay and other threads. Does the extra ramp pays off compared to the cards I have to drop to make room for this? It's a question that keeps coming back to me...

@ CastleSiege: I like the idea and I never even considered this. Since I have enough mana I feel this might benefit this build. Thanks for the Restock suggestion!

@ Prima : Thanks for the suggestion. In the past I had Dosan the Falling Leaf as a solid base in this deck. But then Dragonlord Dromoka was released and quickly took his place.

@ ohmless : Thanks! It's a deck that is versatile and fun to play with. I love it when people get annoyed when I take my time to search my deck, again... and again... and again :-))

@ magicdai: Thank you for you recent comments. Creeping Renaissance I never encountered before. I must say that it does tickless. I will add it to the Maybeboard for the next deck revision. Garruk, Caller of Beasts is nice, but Garruk Wildspeaker has more impact for my playstyle. Especially knowing that Gaea's Cradle will be present ;-)
Oracle of Mul Daya was once in my deck, but had to make room for stronger gamechangers. If I want to ramp again, I should consider putting it back in. Same counts for Courser of Kruphix, for only the ramp I feel there are better options for those valuable slots.
Genesis Wave is a nice card, but I don't like the fact that all non permanents are put in the graveyard. Since I can tutor and resolve cards with several permanents I feel I have enough card advantage. So risking to lose valuable assests in the non permanent range is something I would not prefer.
Summoner's Pact can be a solid card, but as thehat perfectly phrased: you can also tutor too much....
Last but not least: Wild Pair
With the latest additions I do like to give this card a try. Not sure yet how to implement it, but it's going to my Maybeboard for the next big deck revision.
Thanks for your helpfull comments!

@ Asher18 : The Path to Exile gives my opponent mana. I prefer Swords to Plowshares which gives my opponent life. In EDH a few extra lives won't hurt too much, while ramping my opponent does hurt more.
Ajani, Mentor of Heroes is cool, besides the ultimate ability they do not offer me much extra. And I know they will nuke this planeswalker before hitting his ultimate.
Banishing Light is good, but having Oblivion Ring is enough for now.
Nissa, Worldwaker is also interesting, but do keep in mind that I have few forests in this deck and that the lands I have I would not expose being a creature. They love to wreck my lands here in any way possible. As land they are less vulnerable. The ultimate will never happen here, knowing the EDH group here ;-)
Iona, Shield of Emeria is a must have in this deck if I plan on going competitive. If I pull this card now and play it I will be the most hated man in our group, as most of our players play devotion based decks. I'd like to return next weekend and still feel welcome here xD

@ inkslingerxx : Iwamori of the Open Fist is interesting, but knowing that people are active here with legendaries I am reluctant to use it. I would rather play Polukranos, World Eater at this same moment instead. The card Konda's Banner is a nice asset, but it's impact is limited in my Captain Sisay build/playstyle.

Thanks for your comment!

@ awesomeguy37 : Hero's Blade, Konda's Banner and Heroes' Podium have been considered. But I do not feel they bring enough weight to the board to be viable for a spot in my build/playstyle.
Honor-Worn Shaku is interesting and added to my shortlist for a build with mana ramp.
Sword of the Chosen is indeed a solid choice, but not a card that has a devastading battlefield effect. I prefer to play cards that will make my opponent shriver/scared/curse...

Thanks for your comment!

@ Ricky0700 : Thanks for your vote and comment. Appreciated! Ask me anything or take a look for any inspiration. I might be building a second version with mana ramp. Stay tuned...

Two things :

  1. Yeah, nice, there has been lots of thought poured into which cards stayed in the list and which card didn't. That decklist is a finished product and

  2. I wouldn't want to play against it ! I'm not bringing up a debate about the almighty concept of "fun" (nor would I ever), but I'm sure you'll meet a lot of anger from your opponents. You will definitely be THE target, and it could be games develop into a 3v1 where you'll seek out the best defense possible in your, nonetheless resourceful, deck !

Have fun with it !

PS: Why Scavenging Ooze ? To exile cards from graveyards one by one ?

Have you considered playing Reki, the History of Kamigawa as tutorable card draw?

i have some suggestions, but the ones i'll specifically mention (beause Gaea's Cradle and Mana Crypt are a wee bit expensive :P) are Archetype of Endurance and Tooth and Nail. tooth and nail is a powerful spell and i'll tell you right now, i grab archetype and avacyn every time! i know archetype isn't a legend but it's a powerful card in a format where you can afford to cast 8 and nine mana spells. also, even though it's not a fun card, i think Iona, Shield of Emeria is too good. it might not be fun but it can prevent some pretty unfun stuff as well! other than that i like the use of the myojins and yomiji :P don't see them often so it's pretty cool XD

I too play a Captain Sisay EDH deck (A Gathering of Heroes) - She's an awesome commander :-)

I agree with Neonburst - Reki, the History of Kamigawa is an absolute powerhouse of card advantage, although if you're going straight for the legendaries you need to win rather than a longer game with more card advantage I can understand why he isn't in the 99.

A few other suggestions:

I'm also quite partial to Yeva, Nature's Herald and Vedalken Orrery in my Sisay deck - The ability to grab and play legendaries at instant speed is pretty scary!

+1 Sisay at her finest! Have you thought about Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit? She could do a lot of bolstering in this build.

Sword of Light and Shadow? Everything else looks top par.

I would highly recommend cutting Sungrass Prairie, its not good. Also, you run a lot of once off protection spells like Vines of Vastwood, why not just run things like Mother of Runes instead? Also, your deck is screaming for a Thousand-Year Elixir. One other question, why no Sol Ring? Although your curve is lower than some sisay decks, its still pretty harsh. Ramp will help that. Also, you might want to evaluate the number of colourless lands tiu have with the amount of fixing you have.

i find that without extra ways to get more land out. the mana dorks tend to get killed off after the first wipe. i suggest a copy of Land Tax if you happen to have the money to purchase one. also cards like Mirari's Wake would make great additions.

Not really sure about the next card, but it can be good. Because you can search for legendary cards. Iona, Shield of Emeria
