So after building Captain Stormsay and leaving a lot of people upset that I won t3 I decided to build another deck and since Sisay is bae, I built another Sisay deck, why not?

DISCLAIMER: I have never built stax and being out of the game for a while hadn't really played against many stax decks aside from Derevi and Brago. I honestly thought it'd be a slightly less competitive build and not quite as painful for my opponents to play against. I was dead wrong.

With that out of the way, I don't really care too much cause it's a blast to play. You know you're doing something right when you force the 100% Brago player to scoop t4.

So basically, your goal is to limit your opponent's as much as you can and set up for that sweet Biorhythm Shaman of Forgotten Ways gets you. There are lot's of ways to go about setting this up and you should always have some sort of response, I mean that's the whole reason we play Sisay; she has the answers. The key to success is Yisan, the Wanderer Bard + Quirion Ranger and that early Gaea's Cradle, if you have these out you're golden and usually by the time you do you should already have some safety nets set up.

Example:t1: land -> Sol Ring or mana dork/ ranger (if none of these are in opening hand you should mulligan unless at a slow table)

t2: land -> Sisay if you got sol ring; stax piece if you need to slow someone down.

t3: if you got sisay out t2 and have ranger in hand play ranger now -> tutor and play cradle -> return forest and tutor and play yisan. If you didn't get sisay out on t2 play her now.

t4: start locking down the board if you couldn't earlier, with cradle you can usually afford 2 yisan tutors but if you have extra lands in had and can afford time to ramp grab azusa and start abusing those 3 lands a turn.

By the end of turn 5 you should have ranger, sisay, yisan, asusa, Hokori, Dust Drinker (this usually gets countered if you cast it so try to use yisan to get it), Gaddock Teeg (another great yisan p/u but if you need the early ramp feel free to grab satyr and use sisay to grab teeg), Eidolon of Rhetoric, and at least another stax piece or two. Seems like a lot but this has been pretty close to my board state t5 every game I have played with this deck. The deck is fast and wildly oppressive and your opponents will hate, especially when you get Seedborn Muse and start dropping shit on their turns with yisan. Yisan is the real star here with Sisay picking up various stax pieces or just creatures to sac discard to Survival of the Fittest but he's only necessary up to 2-3 triggers and even then you can function w/o him if you have ranger.

Well there you have it, sorry I'm not gonna go into more detail about match-ups or win-cons but it's late and I had a long day at work. This is the first stax list I put together and it isn't perfect I'm sure (could probably use avacyn) but it's done much better than I thought it would. I'm very open to suggestions and questions, so fire away. Thanks
