Great deck, I love the concept, and the fact that it's within my budget, since I think it'll be interesting in my playgroup.

Veery sweet deck! But I have a question: Why Liar's Pendulum? I mean your opponents are going to see your hand (which is a bad thing?) What is the plan with this card? Just card draw? There are better cards for that right?

Selphiron The card is not very good, but I do find that it is pretty fun politically. Something interesting about the card as well is that you can use it to bluff having certain cards, since you can choose not to reveal your hand, so other players may assume that since you didn't reveal you didn't have the card that you named. In general though, it isn't a great card, but it's also only one mana. Its usefulness essentially depends on your playgroup.

Love the deck, glad to see all the hunted creatures included. If you want to have a recurring trigger to cut deals with people consider Varchild's War-Riders. Cheap, quick, gets out of control fast but the rampage means that they wont at least be chump blockers.

imoutogetyou That's a great card! Do you have any suggestions on what I could remove to make room for it?

Tbh, idk... looking through the list I was thinking maybe Etherium-Horn Sorcerer, but I suppose its freat late game to cascade if your sitting on 9 mana and no cards in hand... I think you cut Malfegor though. Dont get me wrong my sister built Malfy is misbehaving. and wipes the floor with everyone, but I dont think you have enough card draw to recover from it or be devastating late game. Cause your not going to recover enough cards on the monarch subtheme (totally rad btw), which fits with what you want to do.
Quick note when playing Varchild's War-Riders which I hadnt realized for the longest time playtesting, you repeat the cumulative upkeep independently. Which means you can split the survivors between multiple opponents, and choose how many go to each. Makes people want to curry favor more, and you dont need to let any one opponent get ahead on board unless you want them to.

Where in the world is the amazing Tempt cycle?? It's almost worth swapping Vial Smasher the Fierce for Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper to run the Green Tempter. If anyone takes the bait you can get a Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage to teach them the dark side-effects of these Faustian deals.
I'd suggest adding Tempt with Immortality, Tempt with Vengeance, and Tempt with Reflections and seriously considering making the swap and running Tempt with Discovery

Seeing as they also synergize with e.g. Vial Smasher, how about Sygg, River Cutthroat and/or Bloodchief Ascension? Dunno if they'll draw too much hate.

It is not a very good card (not very bad either), but you could put Malevolent Whispers just for the flavor.

perhaps, Mulldrifter over Browbeat because 5 damage would be dealt with vial smasher and it's guaranteed draw. Throw in some Smoke to slow down the game for your opponents, while you burn them away. Blasphemous Act to do some damage with vial smasher, as well as thin out the board a little. Shriekmaw can deal 5 with vial smasher, and zap a creature.

I like the way you think Chill_Casual; maybe e.g. Curtains' Call & Force of Will as well?

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I haven't checked back on here for a bit.
imoutogetyou I've been thinking of cutting Malfegor, but it has saved me a lot of times. I'll thinking about it though!
Barsan I mainly didn't include the tempt cards because my playgroup has become pretty stingy with them, so they never accept any of the offerings. I do like Tempt with Reflections a lot, but Tempt with Vengeance tends to cause a board stalemate and Tempt with Immortality tends to cause one of my opponents to get one of their game-ending creatures back.
Coward_Token Sygg, River Cutthroat is a great idea! My only concern is that it becomes fairly obvious what I am trying to do, since my main goal with this deck is to cause people to lose life while looking as unassuming as possible. The same goes for Bloodchief Ascension but to a higher degree. I like Curtains' Call a lot actually, and I might just replace Deadly Designs with it as Deadly Designs never seems to work well, however Force of Will is far, far outside of my budget range.
Chill_Casual I like where you are going with this! I personally like to keep Browbeat because it's more of a political card than anything; my opponents can choose to let me draw cards which makes the card draw a bit less intimidating, but evoke cards are definitely great with Vial Smasher. Smoke would be too annoying of a card for a deck like this, since it inhibits every player so they'd want to target/kill me to get rid of it. I've been trying to get my hands on a Blasphemous Act since it's obviously great in this deck, so thanks for the suggestions!

Coward_Token, I'm glad you see my point of view, but the Undaunted mechanic would only be optimal in at least a 4 player game, limiting it's reliability. Force of Will is a perfect fit, if you have the $83 to spare, haha. I'd like to focus on less expensive cards with this format personally, but i value your input regardless! Ingot Chewer is an inexpensive and low CMC card, but hurts bad w/ Vial Smasher the Fierce.
poorpinkus, I loved your deck so much, i used it as a template for my less friendly rendition of the deck. Perhaps you would like to take a peek and see, @Good touch bad touch? I would recommend throwing some flash into your deck (if you can spare the coin), to get the most out of vial smasher, and surprise your opponents! Examples include Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir (Iconic masters is cheap), Notion Thief (in case you get a little greedy, haha), Stunt Double, and Hypersonic Dragon. With flash, you become unpredictable making your opponents weary of you at any given time, plus you can get more kick out of vial smasher. If you have the coin Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery give everything flash, truly a diabolic strategy! Oh, and one last thing, Baral's Expertise and Dark Petition are value town because they somewhat pay for themselves, circumstantially of course. Other than that, it's a beautiful AND budget build, which is my style!

Chill_Casual I love the idea of adding more flashy creatures, but I don't necessarily like drawing more attention with Leyline of Anticipation, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Vedalken Orrery. How have those cards worked for you in terms of drawing hate? Are you able to deal with the extra attention or does it work in your favour by making people afraid of attacking you?
I'm definitely adding in Stunt Double and heavily considering Notion Thief by the way, they are great cards that must have slipped through my radar when building the deck. Also thanks for posting your deck! I'll take a look over it and comment soon!

poorpinkus , i have a Vedalken Orrery and Leyline of Anticipation in my kruphix deck, they're very powerful. Depending on the board awareness of you opponents, they can go unnoticed, relative to the massive threats your opponents produce. It takes a relatively seasoned player to catch on to the whims of flash, in my experience at least. You just have to pace out your spells, as to maximize Vial Smasher the Fierce, and not to draw attention. If you cast all your spells on the endstep of the opponent that goes a turn before you, that's a fast way to get noticed. But the advantage of being able to cast ANYTHING at any time, deters your opponents from attacking, for they have no idea what you could cast. All that open mana is a door of possibilities that your friends may not want to mess with. Just my opinion, i highly recommend it. additionally, wouldn't it be nice to board-wipe on someone else's turn, haha?

Putting some more suggestions out there, ignore 'em if they're too blunt and obvious:
Battle Strain/Heat of Battle, Wound Reflection, Disrupt Decorum, Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, Goblin Racketeer, Fumiko the Lowblood, Goblin Diplomats, Goblin Spymaster

Chill_Casual Yeah, after some more consideration I think I'm going to add Leyline of Anticipation, and I love Disrupt Decorum

Might be too egregious but if you really get into that flash action, maybe consider Veilstone Amulet?
poorpinkus says... #1
Jimmy_Chinchila Thanks! And I never really thought of that... That gives me an idea for a Grenzo, Havoc Raiser devil/havoc themed deck (I know he isn't a devil but he definitely feels on theme), or maybe something like Boris Devilboon/Malfegor/Mogis, God of Slaughter/Rakdos the Defiler/Rakdos, Lord of Riots and throw some demons in there. I honestly spent way too long trying to figure out a creative deck name when I made the deck lol so if you can think of something better I'd probably use it. Initially I was going to use the name "I could me your angle... Or yuor devil" but there was some confusion with people who didn't know the reference
