@Jrjersey01 absolutely, I've been looking into some of them working on getting ones I don't have, I'm willing to take suggestions also. :)

If its in my maybe board, I have not acquired it as of yet. I will only post decks that contain cards I physically own.

deck-large:best-of-dimir-mill To MrKnify and anyone else who happen to visit this page. This is my version of this deck. Please leave comments and plus 1 if you like.I changed the sideboard to counter Mbd or kill with dark betrayal Thanks!

I would Consider Dropping Soul Ransom x3 and 2-4 Omenspeaker for 2 Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver (to replace the creature theft, lost on Soul Ransom ) and also adding 2x Crypt Ghast and 2x Realmwright To make those mind grinds really hurt. Remember Disperse can save Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver from Hero's Downfall

quick question, Who do i have to blow to get this many comments? at most i get one or two comments on decks that I win FNM's on even decks i build that beat Pro tour decks in forge I get no feed back... Honestly considering giving up on this site for magic help.

@Pyrokineticrage I've also ran competitions and paid for members to get upgraded.

Soul Ransom is my FU to annoying creatures opponents play, as for Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver as soon as I can get some they are going in. the Omenspeaker is a disposable blocker for its scry ability, with less draw in the deck the scry is handy to "filter" out the cards you don't need at the time while supplying a blocker.

Link your deck and I'll go check it out.

@MrKnify, have you ever considered using something like Rise of the Dark Realms ? i feel like one in there would make that last combo of damage help if ur opponent locks out ur mill somehow. I realize the mana cost is pretty big however with 23 lands that shouldn't be a problem especially late game

@rubyvnine it is a great card, unfortunalty to ensure I would not get it at the wrong time I would only want to include 1 of Rise of the Dark Realms and at that point, I would then have to thin out something else. As milling goes it would be able to abuse this decks meta very nicely, its really better in modern or EDH where you can get more bang for your buck.

if you want to control what's in their hand, I don't see why Thoughtseize isn't in here

Have you ever considered dropping the Duskmantle Guildmage and the Lazav, Dimir Mastermind for 3 Nightveil Specter I feel like it would help the field mitigation a little more because it costs one more but it's flying and u make them mill every time it attacks and u can play whatever it mills, so it gives more options, or at least more land, as well as allowing you to get more blockers out if you're sitting on an empty or dead hand

@rubyvnine I used to have it set up that way, but it had a tendency to stall out. I find I can cause greater harm with the Duskmantle Guildmage and Jace, more then the Nightveil Specter helps out.

@MrKnify Ahh alright, that makes sense, I would still recommend siding them for a bit though, they do wonders to get past mono blue devotion that for some reason is overly broken this block, especially when you exile their counter spells.

I think that you should deffinitly get ashiok in your mainboard and more jace memory adept you really don't need the soal ransome there not that good if you want to make it be control your going to need more removal and counter spells so Heros downfall and doom blade are great removal spells desolve is a great counter spell along with sycompate

@Wwwskyler unfortunately I would love to add an Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver but alas I have none. I like the Soul Ransom yes there are better controls out there but this one is real fun, and yes I have to explain how it works every time I play someone new.
take a look at my maybe list, I place all my suggestions that I like there. :)

Mill really is just bad right now. If you want to try and make it competitive try adding white so that you can play cards like Detention Sphere Supreme Verdict and Sphinx's Revelation . Add Psychic Strike and a couple of Syncopate along with some more black removal such as Hero's Downfall Doom Blade Devour Flesh or Ultimate Price take your pick. Now you're playing a control deck instead of a clunky combo based mid range deck.

You should be able to mill your opponent with Jace, Memory Adept (you need 4), Consuming Aberration (also need 4 because he mills for every spell you cast), and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver (He replaces some of the creatures in your deck. He "mills" 3 cards a turn and generates pressure.)

For the record, Mind Grind is stunningly awful. It's inconstant and tier 1 decks NEVER have random elements to them.

MrKnify says... #18

lets say i have a Consuming Aberration I will have at least 5 mana. dump that mana into Mind Grind that makes x lands based on power and toughness of aberration ( then based on cards in their graveyards ) next mind grind for 3, thats 3 more lands + the cards that go with it, your aberration gets bigger, the next Mind Grind hurts even more. I have milled decks with this -interaction-

Pemdas77 I have extensively tested with different duel lands, and they just slow down the deck, as for Drowned Catacomb I do not have any, but it would be amazing in the deck.

Out of M15, Mind Sculpt would be a good addition.

@bigpappyj that was one of my mainstays for this deck before the 2014 season, I have been thinking of making a modern version of this deck.

Try Phenax, God of Deception . I run him in my mill deck "TXDS," and he synergies well with Consuming Aberration and even Wight of Precinct Six .
