This deck is based around Hellcarver Demon.

All of the big cards (e.g. Emrakul, the Aeons Torn; Progenitus; Kozilek, Butcher of Truth; It That Betrays and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre) are not for playing. These are the cards you want to cheat out with the hellcarver, hopefully a bit earlier than expected with a dark ritual or two.

Dark Ritual - to help you get out a hellcarver earlier.

Diabolic Tutor - to search for a Hellcarver Demon, as this deck will crash and burn quite spectacularly without the demon. However, if you already have one in hand you can search for a dark ritual - extra mana never hurts

Netherborn Phalanx - purely in here for it's transmute ability, to let you find the hellcarver demon.
