You need Bloodbraid Elf . great Cascade card. YOu should have more cascade cards if you call this cascade.

The point of this deck isn't to cascade, it's to get out Living End . The name of the deck shows that. Bloodbraid Elf would actually be somewhat useless to me, as I only need the cascading cards to pull off Living End . After that I use the cards in the grave that I've cycled to win the duel.

Love the idea of the deck. A small suggestion though. To speed the deck I would land cycle cards such as Jhessian Zombies , Valley Rannet and Twisted Abomination (Maybe instead of Ridge Rannet , Viscera Dragger and Yoked Plowbeast )?

Maybe not all but a couple? What do you think about this suggestion?

Please ignore the comment above.

I've copied and replaced some of your 2 mana cyclers with Ingot Chewer and Shriekmaw .

Shriekmaw would be a really bad choice for this deck. When Living End takes the field, your opponent would only benefit from the card Shriekmaw destroyed earlier. Ingot Chewer isn't as good, because you need to constantly cycle to get more cyclers or draw the cascade cards.

sheepsmuggler, I originally had Violent Outburst , but to include it I would need to splash green, something I really don't want to have to do. The deck runs far better with only two colors.

Sorry, Cipher001 is my brother, didn't know he was logged in. Using the family computer and everything. Pretend that last comment was from me.

Maype transmute Dimir Machinations to search for Demonic Dread would help

Hmm...That would definitely help out a lot, thanks! I think I'll trade out 4 Grixis Sojourners for that.

yea but you have access to so many dual lands, and currently you only have 4 cards as a win con, that would move it from 4 to 8 its definitely worth it, another thing i noticed you have no way to hard cast a few of your cards, so literally one slaughter games will end the deck

This is a budget deck, and if you playtest it you'll see that you get the cascade cards quite often. And Slaughter Games is only useful if they know what card I'm using to pull the deck off. As long as you don't blab about the deck beforehand, they won't know about it. And every deck has its weaknesses. You shouldn't degrade the rest of the deck just to satisfy a single situation.

What do if playing infect?

December 28, 2012 1:48 a.m.

xzzane says... #16

Well if they're playing infect I might have to pull out the cascade card earlier than I would like, but I think it would be alright. For the most part though, a lot of people run into problems with infect, but it's a pretty rare deck type.

This deck seems like it would match up fairly well with jund and other mid-rangey decks. But it still seems a little to slow for aggro and a little too combo dependent for control match ups.

It is very much combo dependent I'm afraid. In fact it's what the whole deck is built around. And I find when i playtest this that you generally have a little bit of control as to when you can use the cascade card. I like to wait until turn 4 or 5 though since you can amass about 6-9 creatures through cycling.

I love it haha obviously stoppable but oh so smashing!

Haha, I know. It's somewhat of a troll deck. You look like you have no idea what you're doing because you keep cycling random cards, pull off Demonic Dread , and finish off with Living End and field wipe them while bringing out all the cards you've cycled.

I run two (2) Living End Decks. You NEED four (4) Living Ends. They are important because when you cycle sometimes you end up drawing your Living End which will sink you if you need to use violent outburst to field wipe.

Depending on your Land distribution, Valley Rannet works out better than Ridge Rannet . Igneous Pouncer is a nead addition but I question your lack of Jungle Weaver and Faerie Macabre which are your very few flier defence cards.

Architects of Will is off colour and I ditched them in favour of cards like Faerie Macabre which does double duty by protecting your Living End from Surgical Extraction and deals quite nicely with long game creature removal, mirror matchups and serious threats like Tarmogoyf .

Here is my budget Living End Deck, which still works like a charm. I bought this deck with almost all foils for under $100 (Canadian).

I've never run into the problem of drawing both of my living end cards myself, but I do see the use in running more of them. I prefer Ridge Rannet to Valley Rannet because I find I don't need land as much as I do other cyclers. I will add Jungle Weaver though, maybe instead of Viscera Dragger . And I like Architects of Will because I can look at the other players library and make sure they don't draw anything that could be bad as soon as I bring out living end. I do like Faerie Macabre though. I'll sideboard it for now, and give it some serious thought.

I'll get rid of Yoked Plowbeast for the Faerie Macabre s and the Viscera Dragger s for the Jungle Weaver s.

Deadshot Minotaur has a manditory targeted ETB ability. If there is a creature with flying on the battlefield, the Minotaur has to deal 3 damage to it. Typically, if your Living End goes off as planned, there will be no fliers on the battlefield under your opponent's control. You will probably end up having to target your own Faerie Macabre .

Hmm....I added Deadshot Minotaur before I added Faerie Macabre and hadn't realized that. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll have to replace Faerie Macabre with something else.
