WOO! my deck I will use is #rage quit not using a custom commander though id that is ok

@ninjaman16782 Just keep in mind, this is a casual tournament and just for fun. So playing a heavy control deck, although allowed, is kind of defeating the purpose of the fun part of the tournament.

Have you created a commander card? You might want to create the commander first before you build the deck.
July 7, 2015 6:12 p.m.
That's what this whole thing is about. Everyone here created a custom commander, but used real cards for the rest of the deck. Just fire off some ideas. If we approve it, then you could use that as your commander for your edh deck.

What about this
players have no max hand sizeat the beginning of each draw step, each player draws a cardat the beginning of each players upkeep, that player loses life equal to the number of cards in the hand more than seven, the puts that many permanents from their hand onto the battlefield

Quick question: Are Magic Origins cards legal for this tourney?
July 7, 2015 6:33 p.m.
@ninjaman16782 I like it, but the last ability, putting stuff onto the battlefield, is just a little too broken. What if people have Blightsteel Colossus, Omniscience, or any of the eldrazi cards?
@UpsetYoMama Legal yes, but they won't show up on Untap.

How about a permanent instead of that many? or a permanent with a cmc equal to or less than the highest cmc among permanents they control

ninjaman16782: Be aware that this is a casual tournament, in theory ;) so the goal isn't "powerful", but "interesting".
guessling: a few of those seem a bit overpowered - Wyrd Scientist, Aura Squirrel, and Orzhov Gardens are all begging to be broken. The first could probably be fixed with an exile clause, or worded as a flashback effect. The second has quite a bit of Voltron potential (better than Uril, probably), though I like the concept. And the third is just too good to even discuss, especially because TOKENS activate it at the moment - but even with that modification, it's far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far too powerful. SO many infinite loops. A modified version of the first or second could be cool though!

So, I have a bit of a dirty secret. I checked out your decks and kinda lowered my commanders top end lol

So just cut ability three? otherwise I have an idea for a really dumb one =D
July 7, 2015 6:44 p.m.
@ninjaman16782 Hmm, not sure still. Maybe have it say that you have to sacrifice a permanent and put a permanent from your hand onto the battlefield with CMC less than or equal to the permanent sacrificed this way. Idk still.

My other idea is 3/5
at the beginning of each players upkeep, they gain control of target permanant an opponent control at random

ninjaman16782, I have an idea:
At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice a permanent. If you do, you may play a card from your hand with less than or equal to CMC without paying its mana cost and at instant speed until end of turn.

Let me help you with the Rewording
Players have no maximum hand size
At the beginning of each player's draw step, that player draws an additional card. Then, that player loses X life, where X is the number of cards in his or her hand minus 7.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may sacrifice a permanent. If you do, you may cast a card from your hand with converted mana cost less than or equal to the converted mana cost of the sacrificed permanent.
Notice, I did not put in the "until end of turn" clause, because then you can do some stupid combat tricks.

I do want to point out a custom commander is not a requisite
Each applicant has the equal opportunity to create a custom commander for this tournament. However, this is an optional course of action. Each player is free to choose whether they would like to use a pre-existing Magic card, or if they would like to build a custom commander. It is also recommended that participants try out building a custom commander, and if they decide they do not like the aspect of a custom commander, they are more than welcome to change to a pre-existing mtg legendary. Commander submissions can be made here on this deck page. Pictures, typed descriptions, or links will suffice for the submission itself; however, it seems some pictures have not been working lately, so a link may turn out to be the optimal way. For deck submissions, which can only include official mtg cards, can be posted on my wall.

My only wording change would be to change the word "cast" in the third ability to "play," so that you can potentially play lands.
Also, ninjaman16782, I know you too well to not protest you not stepping outside your comfort zone. I went monogreen ramp instead of Esper. I would love to see you do something that's not control in the spirit of the tournament.
Context for others: we go to the same LGS. I'm not trying to be a dick, I just seriously want to see him play not control.

JA14732 yeah, and I will do a custom commander, I just wanted to point out that it isn't a requisite. Although I see how that came across and apologize if I seemed rude. I am looking forward to doing this with you, it should be interesting!

Changed the colors and the text to force me outside my comfort colors, as I play grixis a lot

Thanks for the feedback Trockenmatt. I am open to any wording changes.
I am going to get off the net now since I am at a community center and don't have internet here. I will check back tomorrow to see what people thought.
Enjoy!
