Are you planning on hitting every single Bracers every game?

Planning to, yes. There should probably be a fourth copy of the Bracers in there, but I figure between Evolving Wilds and Elvish Mystic thinning out my deck a bit, I'll hit one by the time I need it. I might take out the two Creeping Renaissance for an extra copy of Illusionist's Bracers and Tracker's Instincts. Thoughts?

That should be Elvish Visionary, not the Mystic, lol.

It just seems unrealistic to hit that many copies that often, also whats the point of Zameck Guildmage?

you play Utopia Sprawl as a sudo 4 extra Bracers

The Bloom Tender + Freed from the Real combo would work In this deck if you had a Swamp

@warpedcolor: Oh, right, you don't have to hit every Bracers, I just need one. I thought you were asking if I was planning on hitting one out of the ones I'm running.

And Zameck Guildmage is for infinite +1/+1 counters and card draw. With the infinite mana you create from Arbor Elf + Galvanic Alchemist + Illusionist's Bracers , you use the Guildmage's abilities to play a creature with infinite counters and draw your deck by removing the counters.

And Utopia Sprawl looks great, I can definitely see running that. Thanks!

@Guardians: That seems like another great way to create infinite mana, especially if I have an Overgrown Tomb in play or I've already used Evolving Wilds for a swamp. Thanks!

I've been thinking of adding Aphetto Alchemist, but he's not modern-legal. Should I just make this a legacy deck to include him? It's casual, anyway, so it's not like I'll be playing any tourneys with this. It's just for fun and shenanigans with my pals.

AzureMage yes you would need to hit 3 bracers, because having only one plus arbor elf would only net two mana while you three to use glavanics ability.

Zameck doesn't work the way you think it does, it says enter with an additional plus 1 counter, not adds a plus 1, sadly.

@warpedcolor: The prcoess goes like this:

1: Tap Breeding Pool for mana

2: Tap Arbor Elf with an Illusionist's Bracers attached, untap Breeding Pool, then tap it for mana, and use the second trigger of Arbor Elf's ability to untap Breeding Pool and tap again for a third mana

3: Use the 3 mana to activate Arbor Elf's Galvanic Alchemist-granted ability to get two untap triggers

4: Untap Arbor Elf, then tap Arbor Elf for its ability, untap Breeding Pool, tap Breeding Pool, untap and tap again, and that's two mana. Then use the second untap trigger and do it again, now you have four mana, three to use for the untap ability, one free one

If you have a Zameck Guildmage on the field and a creature in your hand, you use the infinite mana you create to play a creature with infinite +1/+1 counters, and then you can draw however many cards you want.

I'd probably go with Increasing Confusion, in case it's sent to the graveyard while using Tracker's Instincts. Between Laboratory Maniac, Villainous Wealth, Prodigal Sorcerer, and Increasing Confusion, I think that's plenty of win-cons. Good suggestion, thanks!

Kiora's Follower, Archivist, and Azami, Lady of Scrolls would be good in this deck. Consider removing Bonded Fetch and Ponder for 3 Archivists 1 Azami, Lady of Scrolls and 4 Kiora's Followers.

@Nicholas_Bolas: Good suggestions, I really like the Archivist.

I do have a problem with the Followers, though. I'd need two of them to create an infinite loop with the bracers. With 4x Aphetto Alchemist and Galvanic Alchemist, I feel like that's plenty of cards that can untap permanents. I'll remove Galvanic for the Followers to see how they work out, though.

And I feel like I really need Ponder to help me get the Bracers, but I'll switch them out with the Archivist and Azami and see. Thanks!

AzureMage says... #15

@Bentspoon17: It's almost the same thing, lol. This deck was meant to have more than one win-con, so, as long as the Bracers aren't hit with a Detention Sphere-like effect, I always have a way to win.

And he has no way to search for whatever he needs. If he gets a hand with no Alchemist or Archivist, he's gonna be waiting a while before he can start his combo. Since he's using so many creatures, Tracker's Instincts would work well. And it would suck if his opponent used something like Orbs of Warding, he'd never be able to win.

If you have an untapper and Laboratory Maniac, why not go the Mesmeric Orb route? You could add in Narcomoeba + Dread Return to guarantee a maniac on board after you deck yourself.

July 29, 2015 5:20 p.m.

AzureMage says... #19

ABadMagicPlayer100: The deck already has plenty of win-cons, I think. And if I end up drawing Dread Return + Narcomoeba before I have Aphetto Alchemist + Illusionist's Bracers or two Illusionist's Bracers + Kiora's Follower , then they're dead in my hand. And if I wanted to use Dread Return to get something back before it's milled, I have to include black mana in the deck. That's a lot to ask for one more win-con.
