Masss the Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast are only there to protect the combo, the amount of times they have got me out of a pinch they have warranted their place in the list. If your meta need a different set of answers to be the best deck it can be, go for it! Remember this deck doesn’t aim to interact in really any way, only advance its own position to win as fast as possible.

MasterGabe this deck started over three years ago as a budget build and I slowly acquired pieces for it. If you are looking to spend around $200 and keep the combo, start by removing all the fast mana (Mox Diamond, Grim Monolith, Mana Crypt, etc) and put in the normal ramp like Fire Diamond, Arcane Signet etc. Also remove Wheel of Fortune and replace with Wheel of Fate. You also don’t need any of the fancy lands, just stick with regular mountains and as we will be removing ramp increase land count to 39.
The deck will be quite a lot slower and more susceptible to interaction but you can keep the combo shell and all it’s shenanigans. If you want to make a copy of this deck, remove the foils and make the suggested changes I would happily make more suggestions for you to meet the budget.

mariowen If you actually don’t mind creating a budget version for me I would really appreciate it. I am new to magic and krenko just seems really fun. The most I wanted to spend was $200 if you think it’s possible. I really like the idea of the infinite combos. Sorry I don’t have much card knowledge, so a whole new list would mean a lot.

Hello, just wanted to thank you for being the inspiration that made me build Krenko in the first place. I've modeled most of my deck after yours and I wanted to ask, what's your opinion on Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded and Underworld Breach? I feel like the new Purphoros can be good in some situations but I have trouble justifying his mana cost, granted my forms of haste often get blown up anyway at my table so the cost might be worth it for indestructible. Also, Breach seems like a good comeback card to me personally though I haven't had the time to playtest it. Anyways, would be great to hear your opinion and thanks again, Krenko has turned into one of my more powerful and fun decks to play.

GoldenGolgari that is awesome to read, thank you!
I have considered Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded in this deck and at five mana for haste, it just doesn’t make it. I already find Ogre Battledriver too expensive for what it offers and I’m hoping Wizards gives us an upgrade to that card in time.
Underworld Breach is an extremely strong card and have seen it do some work in our playgroup in other cEDH decks. My playtesting has found it a dead card most of the time (graveyard is empty) as the build is focussed on winning as fast as possible with all the slots dedicated to that singular goal. If you can move some of the flex slots around to make the card operate I would love to hear how it performs for you. If you go that route, I would also recommend putting in the remaining enemy fetches and more card selection/draw to put fuel into the graveyard.

Just to let you know that I replaced Pashalik Mons with Cloudstone Curio. Curio will let you combo off Skirk prospector faster and for a lot less mana.
March 16, 2020 7:12 p.m.
Can you please explain the Pashalik Mons combo? Thanks
April 21, 2020 7:31 a.m.
Pashalik Mons + Mana Echoes + Skirk Prospector = Infinite direct damage at 1 dmg each time that you can trigger at instant speed.
But this is IF you get this combo out. Most of the time I use Pashalik Mons as a board wipe deterrent.

how do you combo with cloudstone curio? I don't understand yet! sorry
May 3, 2020 11:39 p.m.
I'll try to answer your question since you haven't gotten a reply yet.
There are actually two combos we can do with Cloudstone Curio:
-
Cloudstone Curio + Dockside Extortionist + Skirk Prospector = Infinite Mana as long as your opponents have at least 4 total artifacts/enchantments. Play Dockside Extortionist while Cloudstone Curio is already in play to gain at least 4 treasures, then use a treasure to cast Skirk Prospector while returning Dockside Extortionist back into your hand. Play Dockside Extortionist to gain another 4 treasures while returning Skirk Prospector into your hand. Repeat and you have infinite mana. This allows you to cast Krenko, Mob Boss over and over while activating his ability to create more goblin tokens.. and this leads us to our next combo.
-
Krenko, Mob Boss + Cloudstone Curio: When Krenko, Mob Boss activates his ability while Cloudstone Curio is on the battlefield you may choose to return Krenko, Mob Boss back to your hand. If you have enough mana, then you can cast Krenko, Mob Boss again. This lowers the mana threshold to cast Krenko multiple times. If you have Skirk Prospector in play also then all you need is to have a total of 5 goblins in play, including Krenko, when Krenko activates his ability.
Hope this answers your question.

Conspicuous Snoop (that goblin in M21). Enough said.
June 10, 2020 12:58 p.m.
VaalVanir, absolutely!
I am currently testing Deflecting Swat from C20 and Footfall Crater in place of Ogre Battledriver. Have you tested these out and what’s your thoughts?
June 10, 2020 2:09 p.m.
I've tested Deflecting Swat and it's staying in the mainboard.
Footfall Crater only gave 1 creature haste, 1 time per turn. So Krenko on 2nd cast of the turn will not have haste. Therefore, Ogre Battledriver stays.
I would like to incorporate the mogg fanatic combo into the deck. We'll need to add Kiki and Fanatic. This will serve as our 2nd win con, while Pashalik Mons will be our 3rd win con.

Hello,
I've been playing a variation of your list for about a year now and fell in love ever since. At first I was not convinced about snoop until realizing the combo!
Snoop Combo (Basically a mono red Doomsday) : Goblin Recruiter + Some piece of draw, e.g. Insolent Neonate + A lot of mana, RRRR or more.
Play the Goblin Recruiter, getting Dark-Dweller Oracle, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Skirk Prospector, Torch Courier or Goblin Chieftan, and Conspicuous Snoop. Put them on the top of your library, first card on the bottom of the pile and going up
Some cards we can cut to fit in the Fanatic Snoop Combo and Kiki Snoop combo are:
Cards to add for the combos:
- Dark-Dweller Oracle
- Insolent Neonate
- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
- Torch Courier
- Merchant of the Vale
- Snoop
Time to playtest! :)
Let me know what you think.

You can replace Dark-Dweller Oracle for Mogg Fanatic or have both if you like as well.
Oracle allows you to just play your whole deck if you wanted with the infinite that you get from Skirk Prospector and your infinite snoops :)

Hi everyone. I play the same deck and I find it very strong :) I recently made some changes due to the new cards released, which are going to create a lot of problems for our beloved commander goblin. Let me know what you think ..
Changes:
Sanctum of Eternity out - in Strip Mine
Darksteel Citadel out - in Wasteland
Sanctum of Eternity is a valid card, but the fact that we can return our command to our hand only in our turn makes it a little less strong. Cloudstone Curio already replaces it at best. Strip Mine and Wasteland allow us to eliminate lands that create problems for us (for example The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale) or protect Cavern of Souls or Homeward Path from other lands that destroy lands.
Mogg Catcher out - Expedition Map in
Mogg Catcher is slow and it is often difficult to make the best use of it. Expedition Map allows us to tutor land cards as needed: do we have to destroy a land? Tutor Strip Mine or Wasteland. Do we have to be immune to counters? Tutor Cavern of Souls. Do we have to get the commander back in hand? Tutor Homeward Path. No mana red? Tutor land for mana.
Goblin Chirurgeon out - Abrade in
Last Chance out - Deflecting Swat in
Abrade provides more combat flexibility (also to deal with the feared 3hp body Drannith Magistrate). Deflecting Swat is a must in every red mono both in defense and attack (you can delete some black tutors :)), unlike Last Chance which is unfortunately a bit slow since it is a sorcery.
Price of Glory out - Defense Grid in
Price of Glory is valid, but it does allow the enemy to play spells using mana ramps. This makes it immune from land loss. Defense Grid always complicates the opportunity life. And for this it is simply stronger.
I am currently testing the snoop - kiki combo. Stay tuned :) regards
Stephen

Hey bud, your deck is amazing and I've been following it for awhile. I'd like to shoot you some questions over discord if you're alright with that in regards to the Snoop combo and fixing up my own Krenko deck. My tag is 410#9311, hope to hear from you soon

So TukTuk Rubblefort in for ogre battledriver, yeah?
October 28, 2020 3:48 p.m.
the_derf Yes I agree! My playgroup have not been meeting due to the pandemic so haven’t kept up with spoilers and new sets. Thanks for pointing this out!

Hey man, I'm thinking about linking your deck to my Krenko deck. Is that good with you? Here's the link: Turn 3, 600 Gobins [[PRIMER]]. Thanks!

Sultai_Sir By all means, link away my friend. Thank you for liking the deck

So, are you going to add in the Conspicuous Snoop combo? I've already added it to my own krenko deck and personally i think it's pretty good as far as backup win cons go, though I've been fiddling with the cards that I've taken out for it. Would love to see what you'd personally take out for it though, or if you'd even include it at all.
November 10, 2020 5:10 p.m.
GoldenGolgari I think Conspicuous Snoop is great, but pulls this build in two directions. Given the number of slots you need to dedicate for the snoop combo, it dilutes the main combo plan. I found I become less likely to hold the pieces or mulligan into the combo win, which is one of the most important parts of this deck being potent. Frankly_Proven above list out recommended removes and includes. My playtesting found removing 6 cards that push you towards your main win for a secondary combo made the deck weaker. I had to choose which line I would take when I started the game, and one made the other worse if I drew into it in subsequent turns. If Snoop Combo is the main, I think that is probably a different list entirely.

Any thoughts on adding Wheel of Misfortune? I haven't had the opportunity to test it much since my LGS hasn't had paper games going since Commander Legends dropped, but it seems at least as good as Reforge the Soul.

any way someone could create me a budget version of this that would still be good say under $200?
