enpc to sorry this reply is late i been at work heavy, but yeah besides the loops and rolling. The Roll line is for when we can actually swords ourselves and gain life after making infinite mana. Their really isn't any redundancy but you could add in a Jaya's Immolating Inferno .

Sir_Flash: All good, I appreciate teh insight. That makes a lot of sense - I had forgotten about the life gain with Swords to Plowshares . Would Jace, Wielder of Mysteries be the better choice over Jaya's Immolating Inferno as it ties into the Sensei's loop and can provide card advantage outside of combo?

It indeed can! enpc remember this isn't the 1 true build, just what i prefer in the deck. Shaper has a creature version of this deck that is just as good.

Hello, making this deck for my friends little brother can you explain your win-con a little better for me. how is Timetwister + Narset's Reversal a win-con ?

December 11, 2019 1:39 a.m.

Flash_Andretti says... #7

Elfblooder essentially if you have Smothering Tithe on board you can make infinite on board with elsha and cast from the top of your deck, granted Top and a cost reduced is on the table. Use that infinite for rolling earthquake.

You can also do the loop with Narset with the same board state and force people to have 1 card in hand each time (essentially top decking) in order to stop you.

Remember that this is a way to infinite cast, infinite mana, infinite draw and play things in the middle as interaction while holding priority. Elsha makes things easier for you.

Why no Lightning Bolt for your payload over something like Pyroclasm ? is your main wincon here Swords to Plowshares + Rolling Earthquake or Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Copy Artifact + Swan Song. still not sure what here wins you the game with Timetwister + Narset's Reversal

Elfblooder Bolt is certainly an option, so is Grapeshot (which i think is better). You can also use the TT loop for Winds of Rebuke with RIP on board and exile your opponents libraries. Swords to Plowshares & Rolling Earthquake is the main win that I go for, but have won off of double scepter. TT loops are usually my plan C.

Hi there, I was wondering if you've considered Monestary Mentor or Counterbalance? Monestary Mentor seems like it might be good to out pressure on Necropotence//Ad Nauseum players (although it's a do nothing late game) and Counterbalance seems good considering you get to look at the top card before you trigger it, also alongside Top and Scroll Rack it might be worth looking at.

December 26, 2019 9:46 p.m.

ControlPatrol Hello, thank you for checking the deck out. As far as mentor goes, for creature slots, other creatures such as Hushbringer or Baral, Chief of Compliance would be better suited to fill in that slot, if i were to add in more. I see it makes infinite tokens but, this deck only uses Elsha prowess triggers to burn the table with Rolling Earthquake . As for Counterbalance I have tested it out before, back when I was on Proteus Staff and when I converted this deck to its current iteration. It's a good card, my only issue with it is this. It's dead in opening hands, dependent on Elsha being on the table and playing it early can allow your opponents better gage what is in your hand or could be in your hand. I'm fine with players knowing, but only when I allow it. It's non-discreet and risky to play, so I cut it after playing it for a while. I'm not saying don't play it, just be aware that these are the issues you will run into when using it.

That's a perfect response, thanks! I'm also thinking of Tidespout Tyrant for my list, it can easily provide infinite mana/prowess triggers. Would you consider it an unnecessary "win more" card? For all it counts it's also a Djinn which synergize with Cavern of Souls.

December 28, 2019 4:26 p.m.

ControlPatrol only run it if you are going to be on Proteus Staff and if you are, it should be your only creature in the deck. That way you can tuck Elsha away into the command zone and bring out Tidespout. With this, if you have two rocks on the table, you just win, preferably a 2 cmc rock or lower that produces any color with a combination of Mana Vault/Mana Crypt/Sol Ring to make infinite mana. Then just go off!

If you're including bomberman, a card I have found to be good value is Conjurer's Bauble. At worst it's a cantrip, however with the bomberman loop, it lets you draw your entire library/reset your graveyard.

Also just a note, your CSS for the page doesn't distinguish between highlighted and non-highlighted cards (from clicking on the charts and having the coresponding cards hightlight).

Thanks for all the inspiration! Recently added snap to my list as well. Also been considering underworld breach, gonna have to try it out. Might have to add angels grace as well

Nice list. I have a line that was looking for a home. This looks like it. This is the line: 1. Intuition for Sevinne’s reclamation, underworld breech, lions eye. 2. Get breech in play (does not matter what they give you). 3. Cast lions eye and intuition. Get helm, top, gush.

February 4, 2020 12:33 p.m.

Jamesbrine that line is definitely viable, I chose to not run it because right now i'm preferring Back to Basics and Blood Moon more. Now If I cut one of them I would add this in the deck for sure.

artificium thanks for the kind words friend. Snap is an amazing card and glad i run breach as well. Only run grace in your list if it can be used in multiple instances, not just 1 scenario. Elsha kind of hates dead cards for good reason.

enpc I will test that at a later date. For now I am finding success with this list and love it. As for the css, thank you for telling me, will look for a fix on it soon.

Really confused as to how this deck makes infinite mana without IsoRev. You mention smothering tithe and twister/reversal but dont you need a lot of mana available to start producing the infinite mana?

February 17, 2020 10:37 p.m.

Hi gweintraut, thank you for checking out the primer. I definitely appreciate it buddy, now for some explanations.

The idea behind cutting it IsoRev was the role it served could be filled by breach+LED with less startup resources as well as being better cards overall. But without LED (and twister) you need to reach an egregious amount of Mana to start utilizing payoffs (4 for tithe, 1 for angels grace, 3 for wheel/windfall) versus the relatively small startup cost of isorev (3 post top+reducer). While it's certainly possible, as most lists run 9+ fast Mana, it becomes significantly less "guaranteed" as you could draw an amount of that before going off. Which could lead to situations where you need to have excess Mana before going off (in addition to whatever you need to defend the combo).

With that said, 1 way to make infinite using Smothering Tithe:

Draw through with top, playing fast Mana off the top along the way. Once you've drawn everything, activate scroll rack, hold priority and return it to your hand with chain of vapors. Return everything in your hand back to your library, with scroll rack, smothering tithe, windfall and rolling earthquake at the bottom. Redraw everything until you reach scroll rack, cast that. Then smothering tithe. Then windfall. You'll make like 150 mana and draw REQ. Activate scroll rack (it's untapped cuz you recast it) and put REQ back on top. Cast REQ for lethal. If you needed even MORE Mana, you could sac off your lands to bounce all the free rocks you played before scroll racking (the first time) too. This is without Breach.

For Timetwister, you only need like 40 mana and 40 spell casts which you could generate post-draw via Breach > Smothering Tithe > Twister > redraw extorting 15 times > Escape Twister > Redraw extorting 15 times > Escape Twister > redraw extorting 15 times. only requirement being 40ish cards left in your gamestate (hand/yard/library) to enable the draws and pay for escape twice. (This also works with echo, as smothering tithe should produce 21 mana per iteration, giving you 15 for extort and 6 to recast echo).

I've been reading this over and over and trying to imagine what the Timetwister loop is, and what the underworld breach loop is, but I just can't quite understand it. What is the regrowth effect referenced in the TT loop?

I basically just don't understand what the first two lines of play explained are; I'm sure they're well written when you know what they are, but they're a little too sparse for me to be able to completely understand. Can someone either explain them in a more robust way, or point me to a source that does? I've looked, but I can't find anywhere else that even goes this deep, and I'd really like to understand what's going on with these combos.

February 19, 2020 11:15 p.m.

How are you PeskyPineapple. To better explain the terms, Spleen made a post a 6 months ago on reddit about the terms i've used here.

An example of a regrowth effect would be Not Forgotten. For more grander explanations though, we have very capable people on the Elsha discord server...

February 19, 2020 11:37 p.m.

Flash_Andretti thanks for the link to both the terms and the discord, that's exactly what I was looking for!
