Introduction

Welcome to the primer for competitive Rashmi (cedh). Rashmi is one of the most, if not the most, interactive deck in competitive EDH. However, that does not mean you will have an easy time winning games. On the contrary as Rashmi is one of the slowest , if not the slowest, deck to assemble its win. Hence, the road to victory is a long one with plenty of decisions to be taken and plenty of occasions to make mistakes that can cost you the game. But that is part of the fun and when you do win a game you truly earned it and as such enjoy it on a much different level. Therefore, dear stranger, if you are up for a challenge and motivated to navigate a deck that is as cruel to your opponents in stopping them as it is towards you in punishing you for misplays, please be my guest and discover one of the first viable control decks that emerged within competitive EDH. Learn the ways of control and master your meta.

.

Rashmi IS for you if you like...

  • to focus on your opponents and interact through counter magic, removal and control

  • to go off when the coast is clear instead of going all-in (or going off first)

  • long games in which you outgrind your opponents through card-advantage and recursion

  • extra turns and as such unique wincon instead of common ones (like Thassa's Oracle/Demonic Consultation)

  • a challenge in that you need to learn and master your meta

  • to be the deck that has always interaction up at any time and as such can interact when required

.

IS NOT for you if you prefer..

  • Short games where you go all-in (Go big or go home style)

  • to focus on your game plan and how to apply instead of focusing on opponents and figuring them out

  • to have the strongest deck and most wins

  • to get to play the best cards out of all colours instead of only and (mostly blue to be honest)

.

The strategy of Rashmi is to prevent your opponents from winning in the early game, outgrinding them in the mid-game and winning in the late-game.

The deck has its ways to keep up the control throughout the whole game with...

1. Isochron Scepter + Extra turns
