Colorless Green 12 Post (or C/G) is a control-oriented version of 12 Post. While capable of serious speed, it truly thrives in the long game, leveraging its inevitability to go over the top of any deck it faces.

The green splash provides the deck with excellent card selection. Ancient Stirrings hits nearly the whole deck. In addition to simply tutoring, Crop Rotation provides a lot of interaction; it can act like a Stifle against Wasteland and can find silver bullets like Bojuka Bog or Karakas at instant speed.

Candelabra of Tawnos also provides interaction besides ramp, as it untaps Maze of Ith or Karakas for value. Warping Wail provides a maindeck way to interact directly with combo, in addition to removing many of the most commonly played creatures.

Mirage Mirror is a Swiss Army knife. It can serve as ramp, color-fixing, blocker, extra Maze, and win con with Dark Depths. It is excellent against Show and Tell, as it can copy Omniscience as well as emrakul or Griselbrand. It can dodge Abrupt Decay by copying a land in response. It can provide card advantage by copying an opponent’s Sylvan Library. And so on.

The major changes presently under consideration are: 1. Adding an Ancient Tomb somewhere, which would allow Crop Rotation to cast a T1 Warping Wail against combo. The most likely slot would be swapping it for Wastes, although that would give up a lot of power against Blood Moon decks (especially the ability to easily kill a Magus of the Moon with Spatial Contortion).

  1. Additional Ratchet Bombs, possibly in the main. This adds more defense against Chalice of the Void, Monk tokens, and RUG Delver.

  2. Additional Pithing Needle or Sorcerous Spyglass in the board. This is mostly a concession to increased presence of 4C Loam, which is one of the worst matchups. It obviously has general utility as well.

  3. Oblivion Stone replacing All Is Dust in the sideboard. This would be for Eldrazi Stompy and Blood Moon Stompy, which are both difficult matchups. All Is Dust is better against most of the field, but both it and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon are pretty much dead cards against Eldrazi Stompy. And Oblivion Stone is simply faster at taking out Blood Moons, plus it hits Chalice.

  4. Thought-Knot Seer would be for a particularly Storm-heavy meta.
