ever considered Gray Merchant of Asphodel he is a good finisher and can stall nicely in a pinch.

I would but that's a bit high on the curve and has poor synergy with Lashwrithe. Erebos effects are more desirable. He's good but I'm looking to trample in with Obliterator, not have a one creature depedant win condition.

if you want another whip like card I would add Whip of Erebos since you seem to be losing a lot of life and giving all your guys life link would make your position sustainable

I feel Inkwell Leviathan is a much more powerful choice then Ashen Rider . The shroud and island walk alone is a win. I would play test it, because that shroud is crucial in this format with 4x Swords to Plowshares in like 90% of all legacy decks

how does this deck play in comparison to you other teir 1 decks suck as tron and pod? Do you win a lot with it?

I haven't gotten to try this deck much, but actually the other two modern decks I run are indeed tron and pod. It can often race Pod, but it can be tough to beat the Kitchen Finks and infinite life combo. The only defense tron has is generally a turn 3 Wurmcoil. Otherwise, burn wins that matchup 90% of the time. No deck in the metagame besides Soul Sisters is truly safe from RDW.

Friend of mine was getting into magic, and she wanted a burn deck. Just thought I'd let you know I picked yours as the best on tappedout for her to use.

Why Searing Blood over Searing Blaze mainboard?

December 8, 2014 7:42 p.m.

How is Flames of the Blood Hand as a 4-of? I would think that would be a bit much. Have you considered including fetch lands, and perhaps Magma Jet to help with dead draws?

Dragons claw in this side board... wow. It's so simple, but who would have thought?

vishnarg says... #17

Lord_Mongoose, Dragon's Claws win the mirror match all too well.

You have white in this deck but i dont see layline of scantity in the side bord for mirrors?

June 9, 2015 10:54 a.m.

He has 4 Kor Firewalker. If anything that's overkill as it is.

I am questioning your inclusion of Eidolon of the Great Revel, because most of your spells are CMC 3 or less. Care to explain?

takeya9115 says... #21

What do you bring Become Immense in for?

June 14, 2015 7:16 p.m.

Eidolon hurts your opponent, puts the pressure on them. I've had a lot of games where I drop an eidolon when they're at low life, and they can't cast a spell without losing. It can also attack. 2/2 body for 2 mana isn't bad. Eidolon is the reason burn is top tier.

zaclink97, as YamishiTheWickedOne pointed out, this deck already has plenty of tech in the sideboard to win the mirror. Dropping a Kor Firewalker against another Burn deck is game over 90% of the time, the only 10% of that being when the opponent also plays a Kor Firewalker. Refraction Trap also performs a similar role as a quick game swinger in the sideboard for the mirror.

Trockenmatt, To answer this commonly asked question, I will simply link (I tried to link but I can't for the life of me get tappedout to do it...) a few of the dozen threads from people who have asked the same question:

http://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/modern/why-is-eidolon-of-the-great-revel-in-modern-burn/

http://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/general/n00b-help-i-dont-get-eidolon-of-the-great-revel/

http://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/standard/whats-the-deal-with-eidolon-of-great-revels/

takeya9115, I haven't really played this deck in a few months as I've been preferring to play RG Tron in the current meta, but I saw some people using Become Immense and to me it makes sense. Why? Well I figure the Delve is easy to pay with so many fetchlands and one mana burn spells to exile, it's instant speed, and you can just throw it onto an attacking Goblin Guide or Monastery Swiftspear for an easy 6 damage. This would only really be good against a deck that plays very few creatures, however, so you would only sideboard it in against decks like Tron, Twin, perhaps Amulet Bloom, etc.

I very much enjoy the fact that your name for the deck is a balanced combustion reaction. Good work. +1d
