Too long have goblins been relegated to a life of flooding the board and flinging themselves at faces. While some good ol' fashioned goblin-flinging is certainly entertaining, it's overplayed for a tribe with so many interesting cards among its ranks. Chainer's Idiot Engine aims to evolve the goblin archetype from its more straightforward mono red cousins and create a deck that incorporates the intelligence and finesse for which goblins are so well known.

The Idiot Engine operates mostly as a creature based combo control deck looking to command the board with an elite team of ravenous green goobers before assembling a grand goober engine to end the game. Typically, you won't be going very wide, instead using a package of utility creatures that, when combined with Chainer's recursion ability, will help keep the board clear of singular threats that might thwart your plans. Cards like Goblin Trashmaster , Goblin Ruinblaster , and Munitions Expert will help you single out problematic cards, while creatures like Skirk Fire Marshal and Goblin Sharpshooter will help clean up larger boards if things get out of hand. Chainer, along with your sacrifice package, will let you keep playing your answers for the low, low price of a card (Probably Squee).

While you're keeping the table nice and tidy, you'll also want to spend some time using your sizable suite of tutors to start putting together your idiot engine. Goblins seem to always find themselves involved in a lot of combo shenanigans, and so hidden in your pile of morons are cards like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Lightning Crafter or Metallic Mimic and Murderous Redcap , which will give you some value on their own, but end games when brought together. Necrotic Ooze , while not as easily game ending, can operate as a secondary amalgamation of important cards like Krenko, Mob Boss or Goblin Chirurgeon .

If a troublesome Scavenging Ooze or well-timed Nihil Spellbomb exhausts your combo options, the deck can also fall back on an aristocrats plan, using the ilk of Siege-Gang Commander and Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin to revisit the age old goblin strategy of throwing your idiots at people's faces. Whichever way you choose to use your pile of halfwits is up to you, but Chainer's Idiot Engine gives you the power to fling cretins just the way you like.
