Creature (1)

Considering the end of July 2021 and towards the beginning of August 2021, I acquired Serendib Sorcerer and Merfolk Thaumaturgist for the deck back then, and I've found space for Spontaneous Mutation.

The deck is built on two divergent themes, silly sea monsters (a work in progress, so far there's only Charix) and power/toughness value switching. The latter involves the strategy as follows...

First, cast/activate Crookclaw Transmuter, Twisted Image, or Merfolk Thaumaturgist first, then hold priority and respond by activating/casting Serendib Sorcerer or Spontaneous Mutation. The creature's hopefully zero power will switch places with its toughness, sending it on a one-way trip to the yard. You could go a bit deeper on these removal shenanigans, but it'll require the wizardcycling cards Vedalken Aethermage and Step Through. Unfortunately, there's currently only the Transmuter, Thaumaturgist, and Twisted Image when it comes to synergizing with cards which reduce power by a lot or to zero.

Yeah, it is jank, but such is why I also want to have creatures with big toughness to extend the usefulness of those cards. Meishin, the Mind Cage would also be an interesting add.

As of December 2021, I've swapped in a Warkite Marauder to add to the power value manipulation strategy.

I probably shouldn't hold my breath for more silly sea monsters for my Tetsuko brew, but Charix (the Raging Isle) was a huge breakthrough for this very jank and special project.
