The shrouded Athreos is the River Guide, the divine ferryman of the dead across the Rivers That Ring the World to the Underworld. Silent, bent, and tattered, he patiently fulfills his role. Athreos is never without his signature staff, a gnarled length of dark wood.

Athreos, God of Passage, the most badass god that ever was, the Charon of the new generation.

Strategy - DEATH + LIFE:

Life gain, life drain, control, removal, exile, graveyard.

• Day of Judgment and/or Divine Reckoning + Athreos, God of Passage = the most fun you'll ever have!

Combos FTW:

• No damage taken + Felidar Sovereign + beginning of your upkeep = victory.

• Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond + any life gain or damage = infinite life and infinite damage.

• Exquisite Blood + Cliffhaven Vampire + any life gain or damage = infinite life and infinite damage.

• Exquisite Blood + Vizkopa Guildmage's second ability + any life gain or damage = infinite life and infinite damage.

• Bloodchief Ascension activated + Mindcrank + any damage or card in opponent's graveyard = full mill + damage.

Cards that I'd love to add but unfortunately can't afford at the moment: Damnation, Wrath of God, Kokusho, the Evening Star, Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Path to Exile and Erebos, God of the Dead. So just keep in mind that I'm not looking for expensive cards suggestions.
