• Introduction:

On that day, humanity received a grim remainder. That we lived trapped among walls, cornered by the abominations that run rampant on this world. However:

If we're to be remembered

We must fight until it's over

Like a bird that's fallen injured

We no longer wait for the wind

In a fight were nothing changes

Try and try and stills stays hopeless

I will not die as a number

We will lay their lives to slumber

We cannot be their prisoners

So we'll rise back again and we'll fight to the end

Stop believing in façades of safety

Will you ensure your freedom?

The deck's theme:

  • The deck:

Are you the prey or are you the hunter?

Hearing their footsteps roar like thunder

Even a lamb content in its pasture

Cornered can turn into the Jäger!

Now we are fueled by unending bloodlust

Now that our freedom's stolen from us

Open the gates and ride through the twilight

We are no longer caged anymore!

You are indeed piloting the last human remnant. The rest is lost to the mutated abominations that run rampant out of the walls. Will you be able to stop them? What can humanity hope to do to achieve survival? Will you ever be able to go outside the safety of the walls and confront the things that have driven you to almost extintion?

  • Why is Queen Marchesa (long may she reign) the commander of the deck?

Draw your bow and chase

Don't let them escape

Chase them right into the night

Fire your arrow high

Let the crimson fly

Don't go down without a fight

Queen marchesa would obviously be the last ruler of humanity. On times of need, one must shed away their humanity in order to vanquish such a terrible foe. That is what Marchesa has done, hitting both the spot in a purely vorthos perspective, being a marvelous commander for our mardu humans deck and also delivering card draw and defend for a hasted defense against the enemy.

  • The deck's strenghts:

Bows and swords in hand

We will take a stand

Wings of freedom send us flying

Fight'til they're no more

Bodies hit the floor

Watch them bleed until they're dying

The amount of removal we run is high, as we will act an interesting mix of aggresive defense: the ability to unite the remnants of humanity under the same crown will deliver a lot of card draw, so that we are never low on removal or brave soldiers to dedicate their hearths to humanity. When running this deck, your objective is to play the long game, wear the enemy out in a war of constant attrition. Yes, many good soldiers will die. But they've been prepared to do so for Humanity ever since they joined their respective corps. Humor their sacrifice and achieve the final goal, freedom.

  • The deck's weaknesses:

You are more worth more than your weapons

A sword is only strong as the hands that hold them

Your targets will melt away

So rise up again and you'll defeat them

Humanity has conviction and will fight to the last drip of blood, but other tribes might win us at the raw power scale. Our power resides in persistence, so never give up. Even when monstruous eldrazi hit the field, you will manage, as humanity has always done. Your only real true weakness is tied to the absence of blue: not having access to counters means that treacherous combos can and will frustrate our survival. This can we partially subsanated by targetting those players first.

  • Epilogue:

Now you've seen what we can do

Now nobody else can stop us now

Stand up for what we've gotta do

I know that we'll achieve our goals somehow

Charging to the fight

Laying down our lives

Soon enough they'll tremble at our names

We'll give it all

For glory

once more!
