1 it's a kiki-pod deck. 2 it's a reliable search engine

the whole point of running pod is so that you can mainboard answers to nearly every deck, and when you need them you can get them, and when you don't need an answer you can get your combo. Also if someone Slaughter Games Restoration Angel what will you do? it is the only 4 drop so you would get stuck at 3 and never be able to tutor your combo, just a point you need to think about.

I played a very similar deck like this except he had a Deceiver Exarch combo included.

If he adds Deceiver Exarch
he might as well add Splinter Twin
as well, because then you're just limping a Twin Exarch deck in with Birthing Pod
instead, which is, strictly speaking, less efficient.
In a competitive setting, this deck would be better off as Naya Pod, dropping blue and adding Huntmaster of the Fells Flip as an alternate 4 cmc to pod from that still leaves a token in play and you get 2 life from as well as making the midrange capabilities of the deck hilariously better. Or, he could ditch Pod and go right for Splinter Twin and have a hilariously easy to combo deck. But, that's not the direction the builder is looking for. So we have a quasi kiki pod that is stuck between two decks and cannot decide which is better.

Interesting and for the record I'm fairly new at this so a lot of the terminology is kind of hard to understand and I would love to get to the point of being able to build a deck that people don't laugh at. I have a mono gobo deck that I won 2 out of 4 matches with and lost to this guy's deck on the fourth round by him infinite combo with Deceiver Exarch and Kiki for infinite damage. I love my goblin deck because it is home-brewed. Been working on it ever since before and after being locked up. I have a problem with sideboards because I don't know what they should include.

That's a Twin Exarch deck. Most versions run 2x Kiki as a backup to the 4x Splinter Twin which is used to make copies of the 2x-4x Pestermite and 4x Deceiver Exarch that will swing for the win. In this case, he's hoping to blink kiki out with each copy of Restoration Angel he makes (which he can't do if he uses it to pod past it to Kiki since it's sacrificed) or untap kiki with Pestermite copies.

Oh okay hence why he had those cards in his deck. I appreciate the mechanics on that hope to find my own combos and possibly infinity combos in the future. Thanks for the help.

How do you beat Spellskite ?
Really, you kinda lose on the spot to it. I'd add Path to Exile , any Artifact hate, or Twisted Image .
Twisted Image is also hilarious against Noble Hierarch .

I have spellskite in the side board. If you think I should main board it in place of wall of roots I'd definitely consider it.

I like the deck, but it takes until almost turn 4/5 to really go off...and most decks win turn 3/4...so this is really pushing the envelope when it comes to how well it performs....but when it goes off it does go off well, I will say that

this does run smoothly once it gets going but I would try to find a way to speed up the deck a bit more (perhaps run some Lotus Bloom s and they trigger turn 4 anyway and just perfect a turn 4 win)

No. I'm saying that you're screwed if your opponent has a Spellskite . Having your own doesn't help you if your opponent redirects Kiki-Jiki to his Spellskite . Simply put, you can't go infinite if your opponent has their own Spellskite .

zandl What you said about Spellskite is wrong. Spellskite can only change a target to it if the spell or ability could normally target it. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , Restoration Angel , and Deceiver Exarch can only target a creature you control, which means if my opponent has a Spellskite they can't change the target of the previously named cards. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

Have you thought about adding more blue lands for Dig Through Time? It seems like it could be really helpful in getting you your combo.

Hey, I'm constructing a similar deck at the moment. How have Ephara, God of the Polis and Pia and Kiran Nalaar worked for you?

If I ever untap with ephara in play I feel like I can't lose. The card advantage is insane. Against any deck that's trying to one for one you ( or "blue jund") every creature you put down, and they remove, replaces itself while the removal doesn't. If they're trying to out race you with volume of creatures (zoo, merfolk, etc.) she allows you to win the race or stay in it depending on the situation. I draw on average 4-5 cards off of her if she lands and sticks for a turn. After that you are usually just so far ahead that you win.
When I first heard about Pia and Kiran (Jeff Hoogland on the Open Series) I was skeptical. However, after playing with them a couple times I was converted. Early on they muck up the board and chump saving damage and later on they can win you the game. They remind my a lot of Lingering Souls. They also have great synergy with Restoration Angel and Gavony Township.
I highly recommend both cards. Please upvote if you like my deck.
