I'm not too sure about this, the merchant seems weak in this type of deck. Other than making a player sac creatures, do you have any other combos? it seems this deck relies on Agent of Fates.

Maybe think about cutting some Gray Merchant of Asphodel simply because your black devotion will be at most 5 if you play one of each of your black cards. Have you considered Tormented Hero ? It will make your opponent lose life while also gaining life (like Gray Merchant), but it costs much less and synergizes with the Heroic theme. It's also really satisfying to play a Tormented Hero T1 and play a Boon of Erebos T2 to deal 5 damage. Great idea with the Eternal Thirst and Agent of the Fates , too!

Also I almost forgot Reap What Is Sown could work really well in this deck because it triggers up to three Heroics and then with Hardened Scales your creatures get a huge boost. It would be a really disappointing combat for your opponent to attack only to have to sacrifice a creature from Agent and then lose his/her other creatures to the new counters from Reap.

Boon of Erebos also taps creatures, if you like that, Pain Seer or King Macar, the Gold-Cursed could be useful, if you don't want to lose 2 life, you could use Necrobite . If you want more 1 drops, Gnarled Scarhide is great in early, or late game.

I forgot to mention earlier, Eternal Thirst targets a creature first, then it attaches, so the combo won't work immediately.

I got you the more I look at it pridemate is the better target for the lifelong. With agent of the fates enabling me to swing though with an evergrowing cat . added the bow as a bonus it synergizes between counters flyer hate and lifegain.

If you want cards that activate heroic, but you won't lose from card advantage, Scourgemark and Grisly Transformation work great. By the way, If you target a creature with heroic and a player attempts to remove that creature while the spell is on the stack, it will still activate heroic and cause you opponent to sac even as they try to remove your Agent of the Fates , that's why people like it and Triton Fortune Hunter too.

Courser of Kruphix works great with pridemate and Eidolon of Blossoms would be nice with all those enchants.

I used this deck against my mono black deck, and it just kept losing, and it costs 5 times more. I think you have way too many enchantments that will just cause you to lose in card advantage. And whenever I wanted to play spells I'd be at like 17 life on turn 3 just from lands, and its still possible to have mana problems. If you want, go ahead and try it against Grim Destruction Budget.

Also, I think the bow of nylea is really weak, its gain 3 life is counterproductive when you've got to lose life to activate its ability, placing a +1/+1 counter is also weak when an opponent can remove/counter all of your creatures, also it doesn't activate heroic. I've never been able to successfully use Agent of Fates heroic ability against my own deck. The Courser of Kruphix and bow just don't work well in this deck, The Ajani's Pridemate is actually really good however.

Holy crap just play tested this against my izzet, thought i had match well in hand, Solidarity of Heroes plus Hardened Scales on heroics XD

overall it was a little vulnerable to bounce cards. Maybe some Ranger's Guile for those heavy blue decks that dont destroy although even then you have Whelming Wave and AEtherspouts to think of, not sure what you can do there

Good job on making this deck much better, but there are times when my opening hand is just a bunch of enchantments and target instants that can't do much. Also, against other aggro decks, you could have a problem since your lands tend to start killing you.

They're not at all budget options, but if you're running Heaths and Confluence, Anafenza would go very well in this deck; as would an Ajani, Steadfast (although the latter may require 22 lands).

Additionally, you may want to consider Wingmate Roc for insane Ajani's Pridemate shenanigans - each attacker is a trigger for 1 life. Each trigger is a counter for Pridemate. Each counter is two counters with Scales.

I'm derping hard. I totally forgot, Abzan Ascendancy . No need for Ajani. Also, Eternal Thirst is a really bad card. I know it's sort of the crux of your strategy, but it's two mana, doesn't have an immediate effect, and opens you up to a two-for-one. For alternate ways to pump Pridemate, consider -

Blossoming Sands

I agree, it really is bad, Arc Lightning will be entering standard, and well, it will just kill all of those weenies you have, AEtherspouts is also another thing to look for, I use them to stall against aggro decks in my izzet deck. obviously AEtherspouts may not be that big of a problem, but if you can't kill your opponent before his 5th turn, he'll get the upper hand. The Akroan Skyguard isn't as strong as the Phalanx Leader and its very slow, in aggro decks, evasion isn't always needed.
