Reasons for playing this deck:Rebuilding Chromanticore for Khans. It occured to me that Sidisi is a creature-based deck that can dabble in a reanimator build, and that Chromanticore needs at least a moderate creature base to be played reliably. Bingo! It plays much like Jund decks from INN. Sidisi is Huntmaster of the Fels, Siege Rhino is Thragtusk. Where is my resto angel? This deck is a gimmick first, and competitive second. The goal here is then to create a deck that will be able to support playing Chromanticore, but still has as much of an edge as possible against real decks. Card Explanations:Whip Targets:Sidisi, Brood Tyrant + Whip of Erebos : Lets face it, Sidisi doesn't stick around for long. And if she does, you've already gotten your value with a 3/3 and 2/2 body the turn she's in play. Whipping her back lets you self-mill and feed the whip strategy, another 2/2 zombie, and 3 life and another 2/2 zombie when you attack. I'll take ten. Siege Rhino + Whip of Erebos : An absolute house. ETB effect aside, his 4/5 Trample body is already huge, and still a primo target for Chromanticore. Whipping him back is 3 damage guaranteed, and 4/5 Trample Lifelink body coming at them right afterward. Hornet Queen + Whip of Erebos : Nuff said. This guy rocks when tossed into the ring. Very nice anti-creature tech that can beat on them from in the air. Sultai Charm is wonderful for dropping Hornets and Ashen Riders from my hand, or extra Chromanticores. With a playset of Sidisi and Rhino in the deck it doesn't hurt to drop one in the yard if I have to either. Removed this one, Fleece-mane lion was slowing down the deck unfortunately. :(How It Plays:Turn 1: Land. Turn 2: Land. Play Sylvan Caryatid, or Satyr Wayfinder. Turn 3: Land. Nyx Weaver, Courser of Kruphix, or if Caryatid is out: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant / Siege Rhino or Whip of Erebos. Earlier you can get whip out the better. If on the play though might be better to drop the bodies first. Turn 4+: This is where the fun begins. Any number of things can happen here and it's difficult to plan any "right play" ahead of time. We have our charms for removal, we have so many bodies that impact the board the turn they're played. At this point in the game you want to be getting in damage where you can with the many means available. I've found the best finishers to be Siege Rhino and Chromanticore, so you want to be setting up your yard or your field to play either at the right time. Sideboard:I am very unfamiliar with planning for games 1 and 2 (and sometimes 3) individually. Please be patient with my ig'nance. 1x Glare of Heresy are here for Elspeths and banishing lights primarily. Wingmate Roc as well. Haven't seen a Brimaz yet, but I'm ready punk! 2x Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is my saving grace against green devotion decks. I might be wrong on that.. let me know if I'm off here. The only decks that pose a threat so far are the End Hostilities control variety, and the terrifying ramp available to mono-green (genesis hydra and [[polukranos, world eater, right?]])1x Whip of Erebos An extra tool for those longer games with opponents with Whip removal. 4x Thoughtseize are here for that edge against control and combo opponents, it really helps especially against UB control. 2x Drown in Sorrow is here for aggro opponents. I keep running into these heroic and jeskai guys coming at me... they can die or pop several spells to keep them alive. Really unsure about this pick, it has underperformed in testing against jeskai and heroic decks- which seem to be everywhere.1x Villainous Wealth is a guilty pleasure card, but also performs very well against decks that run Courser and aggro style decks that run 1-3 CMC cards Advice?Currently I'm looking for advice for bringing the full 75 into a competitive Standard environment.
