Thoughts on running Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix ? It seems like you can utilize it a lot in the deck with the amount of drawing you can do

Hello Mister Spleenface, I admire your deck, it fits my playstale with stax, ramp and of course Chulane. I´m playing him now and testing it and I have the Struggle if Chulane is gone, I played 3 dorks and one hatebear then comes a boardwipe I got hated now. So is it also important to play safe playing Chulane first? Maybe look at the situation on the board or really just play Chulane if you have mana

munky702 Kydele makes colourless mana only, which is often quite tricky to find a use for. It would mostly be to pay for a Chulane activation, which is not super impactful IMO, and four mana is quite a lot.

Yuto-Kigai That is a key problem of the deck, and one I've been looking for a solution to. I'm going to test out Destiny Spinner from THB to help ensure Chulane resolves. I'd say typically get Chulane in to play ASAP, though there are times where it might make sense to hold back. If you can play something else worthwile, like one of the 3 drops, and then next turn play him with protection, or play him and a few creatures to get extra lands, that might be a good strategy to mitigate boardwipes, particularly if you see a lot of them in your meta.

Spleenface With the printing of Thassa's Oracle. Would chulane be interested in a flash hulk package now? 5 cards to slot it (Flash, Protean Hulk, Nomads En Kor, Cephalid Illusionist, and Thassa's Oracle). It no longer needs chulane in play and doesnt require the clunky loops with, I wanna say, Karmic Guide.

nivikyesac Probably, but at that point you should really just play a better Flash Hulk deck in 4 colours.

It's in kind of a weird place where I would say CIA as I currently have it built, even though it's worse than a Flash Hulk build, occupies a niche that justifies its existence in a way that the flash hulk build wouldn't really.

If you want to play Flash Hulk because you think Chulane is cool and want to play the strongest version, that's probably correct, but I'm going to try and stick with my small sad niche as the rebellion to our Consult/Hulk Hybrid overlords.

Spleenface

Completely understandable.

Was just curious because I'm using chulane as my first real CEDH deck and based a lot of the list off of yours and the casually competitive crew's. Thanks for the feedback, I'm probably gonna try it out

Hey man nice deck +1 from me :) What do you think about Grand Abolisher to protect your combo turn against counterspells? Alao im using Thassas Oracle as a win condition. Ita never really a dead card as it filters your draw on its own and can be bounced back with Chulane

Sick primer! im playing a budget version of it in a more casual meta and im having trouble with the combat wincons (finale of devastation and mirror entity), i wanted to know your opinion on adding goreclaw, terror of qal sisma to to give trample to the creatures when i attack.

Tusk5 Thanks!

I love Goreclaw, but she doesn't really synergize with the deck, and you can probably bounce all the creatures off of your opponents boards anyways if you go infinite.

If you are assembling the combo through Yisan a lot and are REALLY worried about not being able to get Chulane in to play after making infinite green, I'd rather run Beast Whisperer to find off of Yisan.

Why no Squirrel Nest of Laboratory Maniac? Both seem like easy includes. Survival of the Fittest or Drift of Phantasms could also have been worth considering.

How do you win with the yisan combo could u be a little more specific?

ong312 Squirrel Nest and Laboratory Maniac are both awful cards outside of exactly a winning state. Nest does nothing we want to do, and Lab Man is a Gray Ogre.

Survival is a very reasonable include, I just found that it often wound up being an overcosted single or double creature tutor, since we don't have a good way of taking advantage of the GY.

sega_homies I'm not sure what you are looking for here, it's described in the primer. It makes infinite mana, and you can either use Mirror Entity to swing with an infinitely large board if you have the attackers you need, otherwise you need to cast Chulane and draw your deck, and win like you would with any other combo

Spleenface We just took the liberty to play your deck in our latest gameplay Episode! If you want give it a look: https://youtu.be/b8ZrrejQdrE Keep up deckbuilding! Thank you! :)

I run Beast Whisperer The Great Henge Primordial Sage and Soul of the Harvest at the top end of my curve so I can still win without Chulane. Hes a kill on sight 5 cmc general who often only counts as a cantrip so I like redundancy of his effects among my creatures, even though the 6 cmc is high its still less that the 7 Chulane takes to recast. Also Vigean Graftmage and Incubation Druid or Somberwald Sage produce infinite mana, and Vigean Graftmage can also Graft onto Chulane and you can bounce and re-cast it to draw your deck. Your build looks very nice, but a lot of its out of my budget lol. I have a budget Chulane list that I have a lot of fun playing.

i wonder why not having a craterhoof behemoth in your deck in case you have alot of creature and not your combo pieces?

July 30, 2020 10:59 p.m.

PoeticGizzer heres a quote from the primer, which I recommend you read.

"The short answer here is that we don't need a dedicated win outlet. We already have so many non overlapping wins that running a dead card to make winning take fewer steps is wholly unnecessary."

What do you think about Familiar Ruse as a counter spell? Bringing a creature back to your hand can be beneficial.

August 19, 2020 1:44 p.m.

Kinda wondering why winds of rebuke made it into the deck? I guess it could bounce a piece of a combo by bouncing it, or bounce a creature if you need 1 to activate chulane, and in rare situations I could see responding to an opponent tutoring to the top of their library, but I dont know, do you think this could be something else? Maybe another counter spell, or an unsubstantiate? Maybe theres a purpose I am not seeing.

**protect combo piece by bouncing it. Sorry for double post.

DadHumanPraetor

It's a combo piece if you look under outlets. Not sure if you already saw that or not

This is an extremely helpful write up for all the lines. The mirror entity line is amazing. Thank you
