Hey guys, this is a deck I've been cooking up since the Dimir keyword was spoiled.
I love Dimir, and thus I wanted to make use of the dimir keyword somehow, even though it was clear from the outset that Cipher was going to be on weak cards (in general) by default.
However, I think this deck works rather nicely; here are some explanations for certain cards:
Silverblade paladin: This send ciphered creatures through the roof, potentially locking down entire board positions. Further than that, it just massively increases the (rather slow) damage output of the deck, I ran 3 originally, but bumped them up when they started playing so well.
Nivmagus elemental: There comes a time when the ciphered cards become useless, or I simply have an abundance of removal in my hand due to the enemies board being locked down. These guys take all the excess and use it to pump themselves. They also help to overcome stalemates if the board reaches that state (as it often will if an enemy drops a sigarda or similar).
The charms: I love the charms, they give me options (even more so when the nivmagus are down), providing removal as well as card advantage. Great cards in general, though I'm thinking of switching around the numbers.
Delver: This poor guy has lost his love in most of standard, but he fits perfectly here, lots of instants, and he pairs up beautifully with silverblade. I like him a lot personally.
Faith's reward: Not sure on this so much anymore... it's fun, but I feel there are better things to be used, any suggestions would be lovely.
Stolen identity: Oh boy, I love this card, I don't see why people seem to dislike it that much. With the big guys in this standard being 5 drops in general, or otherwise legendary, this card can really just win you the game when stuck on an invisible stalker (thragtusk every turn, yes please). A two of cos of the cost, but lovely.
The rest of the cards should be self explanatory i hope. I would love some help, I'm very new to standard and some of the cards available are lost on me. Thanks all.
