Inspired by his newfound hobby of birdwatching, the lobotomist carved with renewed vigor.
Aluren+Cavern Harpy is a pretty classic combo, usually used to fuel an entirely unoriginal storm card like
Tendrils of Agony
or something similar. I wanted to do something new with it, and I remembered one of my favorite cards from Ravnica; Circu, Dimir Lobotomist.
By playing the Harpy an arbitrarily large number of times using Aluren with Circu on the field, you can exile any number of cards from any amount of libraries. Note; Circu, Dimir Lobotomist is the only card in the game that targets a library (not a player), and I am fairly certain that there is absolutely no way around this.
That's the core concept, and the execution is pretty straightforward;
Dimir House Guard
and Clutch of the Undercity can both transmute for two of your key combo pieces, and
Dimir Infiltrator
can tutor up the other one, along with
Pentad Prism
for fixing your mana, and either
Demon's Horn
or
Kraken's Eye
to gain infinite life with the combo in the absence of a Circu.
Consult the Necrosages
is a versatile tool, and also has minor synergy with our star brain-carver.
I've played this deck for years, and it's one of my personal favorites. Despite the rather wonky-looking curve, it plays pretty well; I can often insta-win on turn 5, and it usually isn't long after that. Comments and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.
