Introduction

This deck is designed to maximize Braids ability as well as be able to play independent of her should she be removed or you are dealing with decks that would be able to abuse her ability better than you could.

WARNING

Do NOT play this deck with people you plan on actually enjoying a game with. While this deck can be fun to play with, there are a lot of people who will be outraged by the Eldrazi, control, extra turns, and aggro combination of the deck. This deck is quite viable for tournament play, and only other competitive decks can reasonably compete with it (many casual players do not run the right balance of removal in their decks making it easy to run over them). Some play groups are fine with it, but be prepared for some rage if you do not clear it first.

Breakdown

So let's start with the mana base. While I'm running an abnormally low number of lands, I'm running cards like Mana Crypt, mana rocks so low I can consider them a part of my mana base for all intents and purposes. While most commander decks try to have 4 land drops on turn 4, my goal is to simply reach 4 mana as quickly and reliably as possible. Sometimes that means I miss my turn 3 and 4 land drops, but if I have mana on turn 2 I'm still good to go.

Next up is my control. Using a card like Counterspell ensures that I can protect the bombs I drop with Braids and keep combos from being set up. Considering this deck normally wins if my creatures aren't removed, this is crucial for success.

I have two types of bombs. Those that give me draw power, such as Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. He's especially strong because he blocks out Braids ability to my opponents. My second type are just strong beaters, such as Blightsteel Colossus. These are the ones that secure the win.

Unfortunately sometimes Braids will die. That's why I run clone and steal. I can steal whatever they cheated out and clone the largest threats, be it Avacyn, Angel of Hope or my own creatures. This can compound problematic effects such as annihilator making it harder for opponents to outlast you.

The final strategy is to take extra turns. This allows you to maximize annihilator effects and get more Braids procs so that your opponents are overwhelmed. Thanks to the other control elements of this deck you can also use this to lock out opponents if you can get a draw card like Arcanis the Omnipotent

Closing

Thank you for taking a look at my deck and as usual please +1 if you like it. I'm always looking for ways to improve this deck. With that in mind I'll argue about most additions so be prepared for a debate. Like any competitive deck I'm at the point where each addition needs to be carefully weighed against the current deck list before I decide what I should drop.

In addition sometimes a card might be good, but if I take the deck that direction I'll need to add more than just one card with that effect. An example is when I added the extra turn aspect of the deck.
