He'd be great if he were standard legal... we can hope for a reprint in BFZ.

Have you built and playtested this deck at all? It looks pretty amazing.
August 30, 2015 12:27 a.m.
I built it but had to change it a little... I don't have the Rocs and they're too much to buy online... I added in a couple more Djinn and an extra Giest and Swift Reckoning... I ran into a mono red and w\o the Roc, it was tough... did go to 3 games though. I also didn't have much of a sideboard built yet... I also added in a set of Temple of Enlightenment because I had them....
It was def fun, but I think it needs the Rocs...

The curve seems to steep with so little control. I'd replace some creatures with a playset Seeker of the Way and Stratus Dancer. Seeker doesn't fly, but it's a good blocker for your early game with it's prowess + lifelink.

Hmm.... both those cards are good ideas. The clerics out of the board haven't been testing that well... maybe the Seekers would be better. I'll have to play with it some. Great ideas though- Appreciate it!

Agree, if mono red is giving you a tough time and you can't afford Rocs, Stratus Dancer seems ideal. Hydrolash seems really good here to me.

The seeker has been decent, but I'm not sure there's enough to trigger his lifelink... maybe the Hidden Dragonslayer might be a better fit... will do some more testing and see...

What about Aven Skirmisher I think that it's solid for a turn 1 drop.
September 16, 2015 6:34 p.m.
The Skirmisher is ok, but I don't think it does enough to replace anything. Do you? Is it better than another card in here?
September 17, 2015 8:33 a.m.
Stratus Dancer over Jeskai Windscout. you might also look in to Send to Sleep for keeping you safe and triggering prowess. man i wish i had some help like this!

Should consider 1 more mirror mockery and also Silumgar Sorcerer flyer and i would cast mirror on it creating a on attack phase copy of Silumgar Sorcerer you then exploit the copy if youre opponent uses Flash creatures to chomp block. Mirror is Excellent againt exploit creature from youre opponent if you attach the aura on it. it give you a exploit trigger for each attack he make thx to the fact that you can exploit the copy it self.

The Sorcerer does seem pretty good, but I don't think it's that useful with the Mockery... it's a very limited opportunity to counter a creature at the beginning of combat.. however, I hadn't considered the exploit creatures when using the mockery... that's very interesting. I may have to look into those cards as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey bellz76, I'm really liking the deck man! Are you going to update it with any of the new BFZ cards?
October 6, 2015 2:33 a.m.
Blade18410 Glad to hear you like the deck- I appreciate the comment and the +1!
I'm not sure if there's much that BFZ adds to this deck. At least nothing that jumps off the page: I suppose some of the cards that might work would be Retreat to Emeria- the +1+1 to the team could be really good, or Inspired Charge could replace the Tactics... Stasis Snare is solid removal. The Eldrazi Skyspawner could be a really good target for the Mockery since you'd get to keep the Scion... but I'm not sure what you're ramping too... could give you another throw away attacker to trigger raid. And the Guardian of Tazeem could fit- might be a better fit than the Djinn- but that's more of a control card than an aggressive one... You'd have to add a few Evolving Wilds to really maximize the land fall cards, but that might slow down the curve too much.... hmm....
I'm not sure... I'm open to suggestion :-)

Yeah, I'm definitely considering adding a few Stasis Snares, at least to the sideboard for now. As far as the Landfall cards go, I agree the Retreat to Emeria would be nice, but it definitely would be very slow and dependent on either evolving wilds or fetches to be truly utilized effectively. Similarly, I don't think Guardian of Tazeem would be that great both because of Landfall, and also because it doesn't seem like it would benefit from Mirror Mockery too much, whereas the Soulblade Djinn could potentially be giving your whole team +2/+2 under the right circumstances. I just think that is a little better than just tapping, especially since this seems like an aggressive deck, however, it could potentially have some synergy with Swift Reckoning. Inspired Charge and Kytheon's Tactics is a hard one. I like the cost and vigilance effect of Tactics, but I like that Charge is Instant and could proc the Djinn, both offensively or defensively. The Eldrazi Skyspawner also doesn't seem too bad, but what could it replace? It would be nice to fill in the 3 curve and to basically get a free mana every turn though.

Hmm..... he does seem pretty good. yep- I like it. I was just looking at the Djinn and the lack of non creature spells to really abuse him, and wondering if there were a better option. We'll have to give him a go. Thanks for the feedback!

Ok- so the Skyspawner is actually really good in here. I didn't realize it at the time of his inclusion, but a T3 Skyspawner into a T4 raided Wingmate Roc is REALLY strong.

Drop the Swift Reckoning for Stasis Snare or Silkwrap
